Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on 2 December called on national authorities to refrain from cooperating with Benjamin Netanyahu’s incoming government.

Lapid sent several letters to mayors of cities in Israel, over concerns about changes in the national educational system, as Netanyahu’s coalition ally, the Religious Zionist Party, seeks to significantly alter educational curriculums in Israel and the occupied West Bank.

Israel’s incoming national security minister, speaking to the soldier who shot a Palestinian man dead at point-blank range on Friday, hailed the killing as "precise, swift and rigorous", calling the shooter a "hero".

A Palestinian man was shot and killed by an Israeli border police officer at point blank range on Friday evening in the northern occupied West Bank town of Huwwara in what is being described as an “execution” on social media.

The execution was captured on video and has circulated widely on social media. The incident occurred shortly before 5pm on Huwwara’s main road — a major throughway that connects dozens of villages with the city of Nablus to the north, and is used by both Palestinians and Israeli settlers.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has held a press conference near the Israeli controlled Erez crossing in northern Gaza. The aim was to demand the entry of badly needed medical equipment and diagnostic devices into the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The Israeli regime refuses to allow the entry of medical equipment as well as spare parts for devices that are needed to treat thousands of patients in Gaza. Hospitals in the besieged coastal territory are in dire need of such equipment.
