Newly unsealed court documents reveal the Department of Justice authorized the use of deadly force for the FBI’s raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Aug. 2022.

“According to ‘Operations Order’ produced in discovery, the FBI believed its objective for the Mar-a-Lago raid was to seize ‘classified information, NDI [national defense information], and US government records described in [the] search warrant,” the document released by Judge Aileen Cannon states.

At a Build conference event on Monday, Microsoft revealed a new AI-powered feature called "Recall" for Copilot+ PCs that will allow Windows 11 users to search and retrieve their past activities on their PC. To make it work, Recall records everything users do on their PC, including activities in apps, communications in live meetings, and websites visited for research. Despite encryption and local storage, the new feature raises privacy concerns for certain Windows users.

A protest at Emory University has descended into chaos as Georgia police officers fired rubber bullets and tasers at anti-Israel activists. 

In this, the latest explosive example of unrest on American college campuses, students and faculty members were arrested as videos showed Atlanta Police Officers and Georgia State Troopers wrestling them on the ground. A demonstrator was also seen being tasered by an officer as he lay in the grass.

My federal criminal case already had First Amendment implications when the Justice Department decided to charge me in March with four misdemeanors stemming from my reporting at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Now the case may endanger two more basic rights: the right to self-defense and the right to travel.

A federal judge on Tuesday denied a motion by my attorneys to have those restrictions removed.

My next hearing before Judge Cooper is scheduled for June 3. This one should be interesting.

The High Court in London on Monday granted Julian Assange the right to appeal the order to extradite him to the United States on the grounds that the U.S. did not satisfy the court that it would allow Assange a First Amendment defense in a U.S. court. 

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenky’s term expired on Monday, but he will remain in power since presidential elections scheduled in March were canceled due to martial law imposed since Russia invaded in February 2022.
