Thought for the day

"Everything went strictly ‘by the book,’ using means that were permitted by the constitution. At first there were ‘emergency decrees’ by the president of the Reich, and later a bill was passed by a two-thirds majority of the Reichstag giving the government unlimited legislative powers, perfectly in accordance with the rules for changing the constitution." -- Sebastian Haffner, Defying Hitler (paperback, Kindle, audiobook)

NEED SOME HELP!

Thanks for all the emails and cards!

First it was the streaming studio shift that shook up Hollywood - companies like Netflix were beating out movie theaters and traditional studios publishing content that went direct to streaming. Now, Hollywood is getting shaken up again - this time, because layoffs are on their way.

The struggling TV and film industry continues to run face first into bad news. This week it was reported that Warner Bros. Discovery was firing 100 TV ad salespeople at the same time that Paramount has considered ending offering Showtime as a standalone service, Bloomberg reported.

Netflix followed suit with their own layoffs, the report says. The company has reportedly let go hundreds of employees and abandoned some of its office space. At the same time, the firm's stock price has collapsed and fallen more than 60% from its all time highs.

Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Officer Bob Chapek said in a recent interview with Bloomberg: “The very foundation that the streaming business sits on has been devolving on sand. It’s all been shifting.”

A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine has concluded that the mRNA Covid-19 injections destroy the natural immune system.

The study backs up months of work conducted by the team here at The Expose analysing official Government data in which we uncovered severe immune system degradation among the vaccinated population that worsens by the week, suggesting the vaccinated are developing some new form of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

It also supports further analysis of official Government data that suggests Covid-19 vaccination takes approximately 5 months to kill.

Uganda has declared an Ebola outbreak after a young man tested positive for a rare strain of the deadly virus, officials say. Eight suspected cases, as well as six suspicious deaths, are still being investigated.

The outbreak was first noticed last week when several people fell ill in Mubende, a district in central Uganda. One of them, a 24-year-old man from Ngabano village, died on Monday and tested positive for Ebola a few hours later.

The Health Ministry confirmed Tuesday that the man was suffering from Sudan Ebolavirus, a strain which was last seen in humans in 2012, when an outbreak killed 17 people. More recent cases of Ebola have involved the better-known Zaire strain.

“We want to inform the country that we have an outbreak of Ebola which we confirmed yesterday,” Diana Atwine, the health ministry’s permanent secretary, said at a news conference, according to Reuters. She said the confirmed case had high fever, diarrhoea, abdominal pains and was vomiting blood.

Newly released polling data shows that the majority of Americans report they are falling behind the cost of living.

NBC News released the poll, which found that 58% of Americans disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy.

Another 63% of surveyed voters say their income is falling behind the cost of living. That poll points to inflation, which has soared since Biden took office and been a political thorn in Democrats’ side.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released inflation data last week showing that prices rose across a range of items in August, but the overall inflation rate was dampened by an unusual fall in gas prices from record highs in recent weeks.

Many items saw huge increases. Food prices, for instance, have shot up in the last year.

Late last month, the California legislature voted to pass a bill that would allow the State to take custody of out-of-state minors seeking gender transition surgeries and cross-sex hormones – even if these actions go against the wishes of the child’s parents.

For the first time in decades, central banks are tightening their monetary policy while governments continue to spend money as if nothing has changed. Large enterprises are not harmed by the most recent rate increases as long as credit conditions are still lax. However, households and small enterprises are bearing the full weight of the financial squeeze.

The current level of mortgage rates in the US is the highest since 2008. According to Reuters, the average interest rate for a 30-year mortgage hit 6.02% last week.

A perfect storm of declining sales and increased finance costs hurts small enterprises. While retail sales rose 0.3% in August, the data for July was corrected to indicate a 0.4% decline in sales. In addition, after July’s numbers were negatively revised, core retail sales were unchanged in August. This indicates a sharp decline in sales in real terms. Since official retail sales aren’t inflation-adjusted, August’s 9.1% increase over the prior year was actually flat.

Sunken, unfinished graves at a cemetery in Eagle Pass, Texas allegedly hold more than a dozen unidentified migrants who died in the dangerous journey trying to cross illegally from Mexico into the U.S.

Maverick County Cemetery has marked the makeshift graves with crosses constructed from PVC pipes and the temporary identification cards at the base of the crosses read 'John Doe'.

TikTok video of the scene with nearly 200,000 views claims that the migrants buried are those who drowned while crossing the Rio Grande River into Texas.

People living near the cemetery claim that the burials began in mid-August, and of the more than one dozen bodies buried, at least one was a baby, Eagle Pass' local station KSAT 12 reported.

The video's caption claims that the Webb County Medical Examiner's Office is at capacity, and the funeral homes in Maverick County and Eagle Pass Texas are also unable to take any more bodies.

A TikTok video shows at least a dozen sunken burial plots where undocumented migrants were buried at graves marked with PVC pipe 'crosses' near the popular crossing spot in Eagle Pass, Texas

U.S. Judge Landya McCafferty said last week that the plaintiff, Kyle Guay, failed to prove that SIG Sauer was aware that it had sold the pistol in an unreasonably dangerous condition in December 2016. Guay, who said in the lawsuit that he has "substantial firearms experience," claimed he was removing his holster with the pistol secured in it "when the pistol fired and hit him in the right thigh without him ever touching the trigger," according to a report from American Military News.

Guay said he purchased the pistol after seeing a SIG Sauer advertisement promising "Safety Without Compromise" and boasting the P320 pistol "won’t fire unless you want it to," a claim he argued the company knew was false.

As evidence, Guy introduced bodycam video of an alleged misfire of a P320 pistol by Roscommon, Michigan Sheriff’s Department Officer Michael Richardson in February 2016. The video shows Richardson sitting in his cruiser on a highway before attempting to help a stranded motorist, with the officer having his holstered P320 pistol suddenly fire as he attempts to exit his vehicle.

An American contractor held hostage in Afghanistan for more than two years has been released in exchange for a convicted Taliban drug lord jailed in the United States, the White House said Monday, announcing a rare success in U.S.-Taliban talks since the militant group took power a little more than a year ago

Mark Frerichs, a Navy veteran who had spent more than a decade in Afghanistan as a civilian contractor, was abducted in January 2020 and is believed to have been held since then by the Taliban-linked Haqqani network. He was traded for Bashir Noorzai, a Taliban associate convicted in a heroin trafficking conspiracy who had spent 17 years behind bars before his release Monday.

The exchange is one of the most significant prisoner swaps to take place under the Biden administration, coming five months after a deal with Russia that brought home Marine veteran Trevor Reed. Though his case has received less public attention than those of some other Americans held abroad, including WNBA star Brittney Griner and corporate security executive Paul Whelan — who are both held in Russia and whose relatives met with President Joe Biden on Friday — U.S. officials said the deal for Frerichs was the result of months of quiet negotiations.

According to this, 400 deaths could be expected within 96 hours. After 24 hours, livestock would die, substations would fail, and water tanks would run dry. Then there would be looting, fires and economic damage in the hundreds of millions. Unlike Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck, district fire inspector Christian Rossel currently considers the risk of a blackout to be much more likely than a lack of gas, which would not have such dramatic consequences, even if one were not preparing for it.

Authorities admit danger is real

The blackout, a widespread power failure, is sadly no longer a horror fairy tale of sinister conspiracy theorists as authorities now consider the danger to be real (but conceal the fact that it is home-made and a consequence of their own catastrophic policies).

The German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB) sounded the alarm and warned of a possible overload of the German power grid. Even worse: cities and municipalities are not remotely prepared for such a scenario.

“There is a risk of a blackout,” said DStGB chief executive Gerd Landsberg told German weekly Welt am Sonntag that realistic scenarios are both hacker attacks and “an overload of the power grid – for example, if the 650 000 fan heaters sold this year are connected to the grid if the gas supply fails”. In this case, Landsberg expressly does not want to rule out widespread power failures.

Rory Nairn died at his home in November last year after receiving his first dose of the vaccine.

He had experienced myocarditis-like symptoms for nearly a fortnight following his jab, which he received on November 5.

Myocarditis is a rare side effect of the vaccine involving the heart.

Uh oh. Someone let President Joe Biden speak by himself again and damage control immediately ensued. President Joe Biden’s “60 Minutes” interview which aired on CBS Sunday was 60 minutes of pure torture for viewers and 60 minutes of pure angst for the White House; everyone but the president himself.

60 Minutes’ official Twitter account publicly called out the President’s answers with an embarrassing statement that his own administration was in disagreement with him:

“President Biden tells 60 Minutes that U.S. men and women would defend Taiwan in the vent of a Chinese invasion. However, after our interview, a White House official told us that U.S. policy on Taiwan has not changed.”

Do they know something that they aren’t telling us?  As you will see below, Walmart, Target and other major U.S. retailers are literally canceling billions of dollars in orders ahead of the coming holiday season.  I have never heard of such a thing happening before, and under normal conditions it wouldn’t make any sense at all.  The holiday season is typically the busiest time of the year for retailers, and at this time in 2021 there was actually a great deal of concern that there wouldn’t be enough inventory due to global supply chain problems.  But now everything has changed.  All of a sudden major retailers are feverishly canceling orders, and this would only make sense if a severe economic downturn was imminent.

For example, Walmart is admitting that it has canceled “billions of dollars in orders” as we approach the upcoming holiday season…

John David Rainey, Walmart’s EVP and CFO, said it had cleared most summer inventory, was reducing exposure in electronics, home and sporting goods, and canceled “billions of dollars in orders” to realign inventories. He said, “Our actions in Q3 will allow us to make significant progress toward rationalizing absolute levels and mix, which will enable our stores to be well positioned ahead of the holiday season.”

Watch It Here: Megyn Kelly Slams The View's Sunny Hostin

The United States is attacked by an enemy that seeks to divide and conquer from within the borders. The Democratic Party has its liberal media partners pushing the concept of racism and its roots. As the Democratic Party continues to use these tactics to divide America, others are struggling to find a way to bring America together again. The ultimate question of how to unite people when the problem is coming from within the country remains unanswered.

Their poisonous concepts are nothing short of the wokism flooding the country’s educational system and liberal institutions. Liberal show co-host Sunny Hostin from The View decided to push the liberal agenda by stating that racism has its roots in the country’s founding history. Megyn Kelly was not about to let her lies go unchallenged.

Undertakers in Australia are experiencing high demand for their services with people dying in abnormally high numbers in a “worrying” trend doctors can’t explain. Daily Mail Australia has the story.

Martin Masson, who is managing director of Tribute Funeral Services in the western Melbourne suburb of Ravenhall, said there is no shortage of work for him and others in the industry as official figures confirm Aussies are dying at a higher rate in 2022.

“We’ve been consistently busy now since the first of this year,” Mr Masson told Daily Mail Australia

“We have certainly seen an increase in the need for our services as have done a lot of other directors.”

Mr. Masson believed more working age Australians are dying but doesn’t have specific statistics to back this.

“We certainly have seen a distinct shift back to people in their 60s, 50s and even late or mid 40s and even younger,” he said.

The California state Senate voted 28-8 Wednesday to exempt itself from the pointless gun-control laws that apply to the rest of the populace. Legislators apparently think they alone are worthy to pack heat on the streets for personal protection, and the masses ought to wait until the police arrive.

This is just one of many bills Golden State politicians used this legislative session to set themselves apart from the little people, the ones who pay their inflated salaries. Annual compensation for legislators averages about $140,000, not counting luxurious perks such as taxpayer-funded cars and free gasoline. By comparison, the average Californian earns $50,000 a year, and the unemployment rate is 11.9 percent – far above the national average. Exact salaries for state assemblymen and senators are obscured by the use of a “per diem” payment scheme that shelters a significant chunk of income from taxation.

A collective of globalist confabs are all kicking off in New York City this week, featuring the who’s who of globalist leaders, policy makers, advocates, and allies.

The most high-profile and visible of these events is the 77th United Nations General Assembly from September 19-27, which had not convened an in-person session in two years.

Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Voldoymyr Zelensky, French President Emmnauel Macron, British Prime Minister Liz Truss, and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi are among the heads of state expected to deliver remarks throughout the week.

Lawyers for Igor Danchenko, the primary source of the notorious and utterly discredited “Trump-Russia|” dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, have filed a motion to dismiss the charges brought against their client by special counsel John Durham.

In the process, they have revealed another startling and potentially criminal dimension to the FBI’s probe of potential collusion between the campaign of former President Donald Trump and the Kremlin.

Danchenko’s case

Durham charged Danchenko in November 2021 with five counts of lying to the bureau. Four of those relate to statements he made in a February 2017 interview, in which he repeatedly claimed to have met and had conversations with Sergey Millian, a Belarusian-born businessman who claimed ties with the Trump campaign.

Danchenko, and thus Steele, claimed Millian was a key source of the dossier’s most explosive allegations – namely, that there was a “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation” between Trump and the Kremlin, that Russia’s GRU had hacked the Democratic National Convention email server and provided the content for WikiLeaks for the purposes of “plausible deniability,” and the then-Presidential candidate had received a “golden shower” from prostitutes while in Moscow years earlier, which was filmed by Russian intelligence and could be used as “kompromat.”

In his FBI interview, conducted between February 9 and 12, 2017, Danchenko claimed to have received this incendiary intelligence through telephone conversations and email exchanges with Millian, who also suggested they discuss matters further in person in New York City. However, Durham charges that Danchenko fabricated these calls, repeatedly emailed Millian without response, and was never invited to any meeting anywhere.

That year, fears of a swine flu pandemic had loomed large, so President Gerald Ford had ordered an unprecedented mass vaccination of everyone in the United States. As Imperato rolled up his sleeve, it was the first day of the effort in New York.

Imperato was deputy health commissioner and the chair of the task force charged with rolling out the programme in the city, so had volunteered to be photographed for the newspapers as he got his shot. The mayor of New York City, when asked, had refused, so Imperato had stepped up. Turnout was strong across the city that morning.

But what was meant to be a ceremonial opening and positive public relations effort would turn sour. That week, the papers had begun reporting troubling news from vaccine clinics in Pittsburgh: three apparently unexplained deaths due to heart attacks.

Since President Biden assumed office nearly two years ago, his 'open border' policies have allowed 4.9 million illegal aliens, or about the entire population of Ireland, to cross into the US.

America is facing a historic crisis at its southern border. White House officials could care less and have welcomed illegals (though not welcomed in white liberal elite towns, such as Martha's Vineyard).

US Border Czar, Vice President Kamala Harris, has yet to visit the border while Democrats downplay the invasion of illegals.

The endless flow of illegal aliens has concerned the Department of Homeland Security detailed in an intelligence report received by the Border Patrol (obtained by Breitbart), which specifies the Venezuelan government, under the leadership of Nicolas Maduro, is releasing violent criminals from jail and embedding them within migrant caravans headed to the US-Mexico border.

When I was 10, I had a 12-year-old sister, Denise, and two brothers. Lenny was 14 and Danny was 5. We boys slept in the same room in a small, single-story house in a modest, riverside neighborhood known as Pleasureland.

The neighborhood’s name derived from a nearby park with two swimming pools and many picnic tables. On weekends, people from all over North Jersey and even New York City went there and to the adjacent, similar Muller’s Park, where I got my first job, at 15, as a garbageman. Both parks closed in 1985 after two were killed and nine more were wounded in an assault rifle shootout during a late Sunday afternoon, late summer Brooklyn/Jamaican gang picnic. I had swum and dived off the high board there at twilight on Friday, two days prior.

In the week before our last Pleasureland Christmas, in 1967, my Mom expressed to me her concern that Danny no longer believed in Santa Claus. She thought that one of the neighborhood kids had told Danny that Santa wasn’t real. The prospect of having no more Santa-believing kids saddened her. She made me swear not to tell Danny what I knew. I kept my word.

Our bedroom on the back side of the house had only one longish, narrow window near the top of the wall. A streetlight cast faint light into our otherwise darkened room. I slept in the bed next to Danny’s bed. At bedtime on that snowy Christmas Eve, just as we were trying to sleep, and at my mother’s prompting, our Dad ran from the far side of the backyard toward, and then past, our bedroom window, yelling “Ho, Ho, Ho!” As he passed beneath the window, my hidden father held aloft a Santa hat on a stick. The bouncing hat was all we could see from our beds.

The EU's patience with Viktor Orban's Hungary is running extremely thin after years of wrangling and threats from Brussels of triggering the "rule of law" mechanism, despite recently announced efforts of Budapest to establish an anti-graft agency.

It seems Russia's war in Ukraine is hastening a confrontational and fractured ending to the standoff, with the EU on Sunday threatening to freeze 7.5 billion euros which had been earmarked for Hungary, citing persisting corruption and fraud.

It's been no secret that Orban has been a thorn in the side of European efforts to punish and isolate Putin's Russia. While Hungary has demanded exemptions from EU energy sanctions on Russia, and has meanwhile enjoyed cheap gasoline and other energy at a moment prices in the rest of Europe have gone steadily up over the course of the war - and into what's sure to be a tough winter - the belief among leading EU states is that joint bloc anti-Russia actions have been largely blunted. The timing of the fresh EU threats is not going unnoticed.

File image: Reuters

Bloomberg in a fresh report has put the dilemma as follows: "But while most member states have been engaged in a desperate scramble to secure alternative gas supplies ahead of the winter, Orban has deepened his country’s ties to the Kremlin, exploiting the exemptions he demanded from EU sanctions to secure increased imports of gas from Russia."

Poland has remained a powerful impediment thus far to Brussels triggering any significant rule of law penalties, despite Warsaw remaining at the forefront of denunciations of Russia's invasion.
