In Germany, Covid management is being militarized

A general with experience from operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan and the NATO Defender Europe major maneuvers will in future lead the Corona crisis team of the new German government. Breuer is called “General Corona” in the Bundeswehr.

The tasks of his command also include the operation of military training areas and practical measures in connection with host nation support, i.e. the stay of troops from allied states in Germany and their transit. In this context, Major General Breuer was tasked with assisting the advance of US troops towards the Russian border during the Defender Europe maneuvers.

He now runs the new Corona crisis team, a supposedly civil body, from an office in the Federal Chancellery. By assigning posts to a general, the new government, in which the Greens have a strong position, is pushing for the normalization of a military response to a health issue.

Four injured after old WWII aircraft bomb explodes in Munich - police

Four people were injured when an old aircraft bomb exploded at a bridge near Munich's busy main train station on Wednesday, police said on Twitter, raising the number of wounded from three earlier.

The Munich fire brigade said one of the people was seriously injured.

More than 2,000 tonnes of live bombs and munitions are discovered each year in Germany, more than 70 years after the end of World War Two.

British and American warplanes pummelled the country with 1.5 million tonnes of bombs that killed 600,000 people. Officials estimate that 15% of the bombs failed to explode, some of which were buried six meters (20 feet) deep in the ground.

Why Germany’s new leader is a major threat to the EU

Incoming German chancellor Olaf Scholz has been clear about his intention to pursue a federal European state. But far from bringing the European Union’s member countries closer together, his plan could rupture it completely.

Scholz will become the new chancellor of Germany within the next 10 days, heading a ‘traffic light’ coalition made up of his own party, the SPD, the Greens, and the Free Democrats.

The top jobs will be divided between the leaders of the respective parties, with the three most powerful positions going to Scholz, the leader of the SPD; the FDP’s Christian Lindner, who will be finance minister; and the Green co-leader Annalena Baerbock, who will become foreign minister.

Ukraine demands Germany pay up for WWII damage

Ukraine’s top diplomat in Berlin has demanded that Germany must pay for what he describes as the theft of priceless heritage from the country by the Nazis during WWII, as well as for subsequent deals made on cultural artifacts.

In an open letter published on Monday, Andrey Melnik, the Eastern European country’s ambassador said he refused to attend a concert marking the repatriation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s archive under the terms of a deal concluded just two decades ago.

In the statement, the envoy argued that Kiev is still owed compensation “for the enormous losses in cultural heritage during the Nazi occupation, as well as from the point of view of supporting [Ukraine] on its path to membership in the EU.”

Leaked Docs Reveal Germany Is Urging Congress To Thwart Biden Admin Sanctions On Nord Stream 2

Axios on Sunday has revealed that Germany has been quietly urging the United States not to sanction the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, even as geopolitical tensions between Europe and Russia have been on edge over the past month given recent allegations the Kremlin is building up troops near Ukraine for a possible near-future offensive.

The report details documents obtained by Axios wherein Congressional members are warned that fresh Biden admin sanctions would "ultimately damage transatlantic unity" and leave Washington's credibility weakened.

UK Army Reestablishes 'Permanent' Germany Presence Directed At "Russian Threat"

The United Kingdom announced at the end of last week that the military will ramp up its permanent presence of troops and tanks in Germany, a year after drawing down its large Cold War-era presence there. British media appeared unanimous in citing that it was in the face of the "Russian threat" - with the premier newspaper The Sunday Times describing a "brigade-sized force" will now be closer to eastern Europe "in the event of war with Russia."

"Hundreds of vehicles including tanks and drones will be deployed back to Germany in a government U-turn as the army builds one of its three big overseas hubs in the country," The Times wrote in reference also to Oman and Kenya, which will additionally form the three new "regional land hubs" of the army's foreign deployments.

Germany Warns US Congress Nord Stream 2 Sanctions Will 'Damage Transatlantic Unity', Docs Show

The German Embassy in Washington reportedly handed American congressmen a document saying that the pipeline poses no threat to Ukraine or the EU and arguing that new restrictions could undermine US-German ties and weaken the credibility of the US government.

The German government has called upon US congressmen not to impose sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, insisting that doing so will "damage transatlantic unity", Axios has reported, citing newly obtained documents.

"US Sanctions targeting Nord Stream 2 would undermine the commitment given to Germany in the Joint Statement, weaken the credibility of the US government, and endanger the achievements of the Joint Statement, including the provisions supporting Ukraine", the German "non-paper" dated 19 November and marked as "classified" said.

Germany’s Incoming Government Agrees to Keep Hosting US Nukes

Germany’s incoming government said in a coalition deal that it will continue hosting US nuclear weapons.

The announcement comes after some speculation that the new government might be opposed to the presence of nuclear weapons based on earlier comments by members of the political parties forming the coalition. The government is being formed by the Social Democratic Party(SDP), the Green Party, and the Free Democrats.

Germany has no nuclear weapons of its own but has between 15 and 20 US B-61 nuclear gravity bombs at the Büchel Airbase and a fleet of Tornado fighter bombers to deliver them as part of a NATO agreement.

Members of the Greens and the SDP have previously voiced opposition to the arrangement, causing NATO to press the country to continue hosting the nukes. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said if Germany stopped hosting the nukes, the alliance would move them further east, closer to Russia.

Germany assumes command of NATO’s growing military forces on its northeast flank: Belarus, Russia, Kaliningrad

On 19 November, German Army Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart relieved the Polish Army Lieutenant General S?awomir Wojciechowski as Commander Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) during a change-of-command ceremony at Baltic Barracks. The Corps Commander post rotates every three years between German and Polish general officers.

Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum GEN Jörg Vollmer presided over the ceremony, highlighting the critical role Multinational Corps Northeast plays in the NATO Force Structure. “Multinational Corps Northeast is our key unit in the Baltic Sea region. In peacetime, crisis and conflict, this Corps is ready. It has a command and control structure which is already in place….,” the General said.

In his final address, LTG Wojciechowski emphasized that in the last three years the Corps had remained at the centre of adaptation and change across the Alliance’s north-eastern flank:

A German doctor committed suicide by writing that he could no longer deceive his patients

The head of the Chemnitz clinic in Germany committed suicide because of the “vaccination lie”.

Thomas Jenges committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the hospital. In his suicide note, the doctor allegedly justified his move by saying that he could no longer tolerate the “constant lies and scams about supposedly harmless vaccinations” associated with C0vid.

Dr. Thomas Jenges wrote a rather impressive suicide letter that he demanded to be published. In it, he is said to have sharply criticized the government’s information policy on the dangers of C0vid-19 vaccinations. The doctor could no longer endure the constant lie that vaccines were supposedly harmless. And he could no longer deceive patients.

In the note, Yanges strongly condemns the vaccination of the population with the experimental and deadly C0vid-19 vaccine, which is actually a biological warfare agent. In his opinion, this is genocide and a crime against humanity.

New study from Germany confirms higher vax coverage --> higher excess mortality

I just got a new study from a friend in Germany (Max Langen).

What this new German study shows is: The higher the vaccination rate, the higher the excess mortality.

I can’t say I’m surprised. These are the deadliest vaccine in human history by a factor of over 800. But it is always nice to get confirmation from multiple sources who have no conflicts.

The authors write (translated into English): “The correlation is + .31, is amazingly high and especially in an unexpected direction. Actually, it should be negative, so that one could say: The higher the vaccination rate, the lower the excess mortality. However, the opposite is the case and this urgently needs to be clarified. Excess mortality can be observed in all 16 countries…”

In plain English: vaccination makes things worse, not better.

Frozen Deutschland

As much as with “brain dead” NATO (copyright Emmanuel Macron) no one ever lost precious assets betting on the incompetence, narrow-mindedness and cowardice of political “leaders” across the Atlanticist EU.

There are two main reasons for the latest German legalese gambit of suspending the certification of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

1. Retaliation, directly against Belarus and Russia, “guilty” of the disgraceful refugee drama at the Poland-Belarus border.

2. Politicking by the German Greens.

Germany Will ‘Freeze’ Without Russian Gas, Energy Executive Warns

Germans face a bitter winter as natural gas market prices have soared again — after the national energy regulator apparently bowed to Russophobic and environmentalist lobbies and suspended the approval process for a new heating gas pipeline.

A German energy executive has warned his country will "freeze" this winter if authorities continue to block the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Brazilian journalist and global affairs pundit Pepe Escobar quoted an anonymous industry chief as his source in his latest column for the Unz Review on German energy regulator Bundesnetzagentur's decision to suspend the certification of the newly-finished pipeline.

That decision has sent gas prices soaring to levels approaching those in September and October — until assurances from Russian President Vladimir Putin that national gas firm Gazprom would honour all existing contracts calmed jitters.

NATO Nuclear Weapons Can Be Moved to East From Germany, Stoltenberg Says

If Berlin refuses to station NATO nuclear weapons, then it can be moved to other European countries, including in the Eastern part of the continent, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday.

"I expect that Germany will continue to be part of nuclear sharing because it’s so important for the whole of European defence framework. The alternative to NATO nuclear sharing is different types of bilateral arrangements. Germany can off course decide whether there will be nuclear weapons in your country but the alternative is that we end up with nuclear weapons in other countries in Europe also to the east of Germany", Stoltenberg said.

German media reveals jail terms for fake Covid certificates

Those making and knowingly using fake vaccination certificates in Germany could soon face up to five years behind bars, as the country’s likely future coalition government is looking to tighten the screws.

Coming under the same category are also fake test results and Covid recovery certificates, with similar penalties for the counterfeiters and the holders. Everything envisaged in the new guidelines was drafted by the Social Democrats, along with the Free Democratic and Green Parties. The three are currently in coalition talks and expected to form a new government as early as next week.

The German Parliament will decide on the regulations this Thursday, though a draft has already been seen by the media outlet DPA.

US Nuclear Unit In Germany Reactivates With "Dark Eagle" Hypersonic Missiles

Much attention lately has been focused on a series of Chinese hypersonic weapons tests. Let's now shift our attention to the US and Russia, where the Pentagon has reactivated a nuclear unit, based in Mainz-Kastel, western Germany, that will soon be able to launch 4,000 mph hypersonic weapons aimed at Moscow, according to The Sun.

For the first time in decades, the 56th Artillery Command is armed with "Dark Eagle" long-range hypersonic missiles that can strike Moscow in 21 minutes and 30 seconds. The last time the command was fully operational was in 1991, right before the Soviet Union collapsed.

"From a blank piece of paper in March 2019, we, along with our industry partners and joint services, delivered this hardware in just over two years. Now, Soldiers can begin training," Lt. Gen. L. Neil Thurgood said in a statement.

VAX FAIL: Covid cases soar in Germany despite 67% “vaccine” compliance

The World Health Organization (WHO) says it is really worried about the latest wave of the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) to emerge in mostly-“vaccinated” Germany.

The United Nations arm expressed “grave concern,” to quote mainstream news reports, about how quickly the latest variants of the Chinese Virus are supposedly spreading across Europe, including in Germany which just saw its largest daily increase in “cases” since the start of the plandemic.

“We are, once again, at the epicentre,” announced WHO Europe director Hans Kluge at a press conference.

Even though nearly 67 percent of Germany is now “fully vaccinated” for the Fauci Flu, Kluge estimates that “another half a million” people will die from “covid” by February.

This is according to “one reliable projection,” he said, mostly leaving it at that.

Europe’s most populous country, Germany saw 34,000 new cases of Chinese Germs in one single day, which the Robert Koch Institute health agency claims is an all-time high.

German union calls for strikes at Amazon sites over pay, working conditions

Workers at several Amazon factories in Germany have gone on strike to demand better pay and working conditions from the US online retail giant.

Organized by the Verdi trade union, the country’s second-largest union, the strike started at seven Amazon locations on Monday and Tuesday, according to reports.

The strike would last from between 24 hours to up to three days, said the union, without mentioning the number of staff likely to participate in the walkout.

Verdi said it had called the strike to demand a rise in pay in line with agreements the union has reached with the broader retail and mail-order industries in Germany, accusing the company of failing to meet industry standards for wage increases.

“It is unacceptable that a multinational corporation worth billions and (which) makes money hand over fist still refuses to give employees the wage increases that other companies in the industry pay," Verdi representative Orhan Akman said in a statement.

The five countries said recent events in Afghanistan have shown that the EU must be able to act swiftly, according to a document cited by dpa.

German city stops tracking covid vaccine deaths in order to suppress the truth about how many people are being KILLED by vaccines

The central German city of Weimar is no longer publishing data on residents who die from or have to be hospitalized because of Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines” because the extremely high numbers are fueling the narrative of the “corona deniers.”

According to reports, Weimar does not want people who oppose or even just question with healthy skepticism the “safety” and “effectiveness” of Chinese Virus injections, which is why it decided to embrace a new policy of anti-science that exchanges reality for fantasy.

By no longer publishing the statistical facts about Fauci Flu shot injuries and deaths, Weimar is attempting to create the illusion that all is well with the jabs. Peter Kleine, Weimar’s mayor, publicly announced that it is in the best interests of public health to no longer report the truth.

Unvaccinated People To Be Banned From Berlin Christmas Markets

Unvaccinated people will be banned from visiting Berlin’s famous Christmas markets, with even the option of providing a negative COVID test likely to be removed.

‘Woke’ German museum under fire over unsanctioned campaign to rename over 100 ‘racist’ artworks – reports

A German museum that renamed some 143 classic artworks it considered to have “racist or otherwise discriminatory” titles has been accused of “identity theft” after making the “far-reaching intervention” without a public mandate.

Since early 2020, curators at the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) – a cultural museum under the German state of Saxony – have completely changed the titles of 120 pieces of art and made partial changes to 23 other works in an apparent effort to make them ‘politically correct’. The SKD houses an estimated 1.5 million-strong inventory of historic works.

The museum has been removing content it considers outdated, including the terms “gypsy,” “Eskimo,” “Indian” (referring to indigenous people) and “Moor” – and has reportedly even ditched references to “natives” and “dark-skinned” people.

Nord Stream 2 ‘does not endanger’ security of EU gas supply, German government tells regulator, urging pipeline’s certification

The German Ministry of Economics and Technology has advised the country's national energy regulator to proceed with certifying the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, saying it poses no threat to the security of the German or EU gas supply.

No reaction from Paris, Berlin to Kiev’s threats of missile strike at Russia — diplomat

Berlin and Paris must provide their assessment of how Kiev’s threats of a missile strike at Russia influence the Normandy Four negotiations process, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Tuesday, adding that their lack of reaction raises questions.

According to Zakharova, France and Germany do not react to Kiev’s open sabotage of the Minsk Agreements and "the recent degradation to threatening Russia openly."

World War II (III) mission to endure: U.S. to keep troops in Germany to confront Russia

The U.S. Army is here to stay in Germany, the service’s top civilian said this week during a stop in Munich that reinforced a growing sense that a proposal for big troop cutbacks in the country is all but dead.

Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth said Monday that “there should be no question” that the U.S. is sticking around. She highlighted the recent addition of new Army units as a sign that a mission dating to World War II will endure.

‘Naive is an understatement’: German safety official tells RT that risk of electric vehicle fires is ‘completely unaddressed’

A series of fires involving electric buses is calling into question Germany’s reliance on these zero-emissions vehicles. “The risk of these fires,” safety regulator Heinrich Duepmann told RT, “is completely unaddressed.”

Europe is experiencing a green transport boom. Sales have quadrupled since 2018, and one in every ten new vehicles sold on the continent is now fully electric, a share that rises to four in ten when hybrid vehicles are taken into account. In Germany, where the Greens are in talks about joining a coalition government, the number of electric buses doubled last year compared to 2019.

The switchover from diesel to electricity has not been entirely smooth. Three bus depots were gutted by fire this year alone, with the most recent in Stuttgart last month destroying 25 buses and sending a column of smoke towering over the city.

Germany, Others to Launch EU-Wide Military Force

Under a new initiative to expand the EU’s alliance-wide military force, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, and Slovenia will establish a rapid-reaction force, aimed to act within EU territory.

Some in the EU have been very interested in the idea of building up a military, though the existing battle groups are fairly small. Restricting these additional troops to the EU territory likely is meant to avoid public criticism of the plan.

The nations that decided to get involved said that the recent war in Afghanistan led to the decision, convincing them that the EU needs to be able to react quickly with special forces.

German officials expressed optimism on the idea. Opposition figures, however, said that the EU is meant to be a civilian alliance, and doesn’t need to create a new intervention force.

‘Germany is your friend now’: Outgoing US ambassador insults Serbia at memorial for schoolboys executed by Nazis

Seeking to honor schoolboys and other Serbian civilians murdered in a mass execution by Germans in 1941, the US ambassador in Belgrade spoke about progress towards a peaceful, united Europe – just like the Nazis did back then.

On Thursday, Ambassador Anthony Godfrey visited the monument in Kragujevac, dedicated to some 2,800 civilians the Nazi occupiers executed on October 21, 1941. Bowing to the “tragic victims” and even referencing a poem memorializing the massacre of an entire class of schoolboys, Godfrey then pivoted to milking the event for political purposes.

Medieval-style siege in central Berlin: German police move to evict iconic left-wing Kopi trailer camp (VIDEO)

An operation to evict squatters from the left-wing Kopi trailer camp in Berlin has turned into a medieval-style standoff as shield-bearing police officers used siege towers and armored vehicles to ram the walls of the compound.

The “autonomists” living inside the housing project on 137 Kopenicker Street – commonly referred to as ‘Kopi’ by Berliners – in the center of the German capital had been fortifying their camp during the week, including placing barbed wire on top of the walls, ahead of the planned eviction on Friday.

They vowed to defend their home and stage protests elsewhere in Berlin, but this wasn’t enough to stop law enforcement from moving against yet another illegally occupied property in the city.

Some 2,000 officers have taken part in the operation, with some of them storming the trailer camp and the rest preventing possible provocatory acts in other parts of Berlin.

German election chaos in Berlin — what happens now?

It's likely that the election chaos in Berlin will have legal consequences

Chaotic scenes and embarrassing irregularities at Berlin's ballot stations during last month's general election have shaken confidence in Germany's election system, while providing ammunition for those who question the German capital's efficiency. On Thursday, October 14, final election results will be published, giving the green light for what are expected to be several legal challenges.

Berlin held elections at federal, state and local council levels on September 26, as well as a referendum on socializing major housing companies. In confusing circumstances, many voters in the German capital waited for hours at voting stations as election volunteers ran out of ballot papers, or ballot papers were delivered to the wrong districts.

Dominos Fall As Germany’s Largest Ammonia Producer Slashes Output Amid Energy Crisis

A natural gas shortage across Europe has created supply-chain shocks, as seen in the food industry, where problems continue to worsen. European natgas prices are at insane levels, triggering a domino effect of output reduction or closures of fertilizer plants on the continent.

Last month, two of the U.K.'s largest fertilizer factories producing 45% of domestic demand closed, and one shortly reopened with government aid. By late month, Austrian fertilizer producer Borealis AG slashed ammonia output after the cost natgas compressed margins in an industry facing tight supplies.

As the dominos fall, SKW Piesteritz, Germany's largest ammonia producer, announced a 20% reduction in ammonia production due to the record-high natgas prices on Tuesday.

"The level that has now been reached no longer enables economically sensible production, so that we are forced to take this step," the company told Bloomberg in an emailed statement.

German Wind Turbine Mysteriously Collapses One Day Before It Was Supposed To Officially Be Inaugurated

A massive wind turbine in the town of Haltern, Germany, collapsed just hours before it was set to be inaugurated this week.

The huge alternative energy device sported rotor blades at a height of 784 feet, according to a report by AP. It fell over, without warning, late on Wednesday this week.

The turbine was supposed to be officially launched the next day and had been hooked up to the power grid for over six months.

It's part of a larger effort in Germany to use renewable energy while the country attempts to transition not only away from fossil fuels, but away from nuclear.

‘No sane person’ believes in ‘freedom of speech’ in the West, RT editor-in-chief says as YouTube censors German-language channels

RT is awaiting Moscow’s response to YouTube’s decision to delete RT's German-language channels, RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan has said, adding that the move was no surprise amid Berlin’s campaign against the news outlet.

The purportedly permanent removal of the two YouTube channels, RT DE and Der Fehlende Part, followed a broad campaign against RT’s operations waged by German media and government officials, Simonyan insisted on Wednesday. The effort stemmed from the rapid audience growth the now-defunct channels have enjoyed, she believes.

Russian diplomat urges Germany to issue permit for RT broadcasts as sign of impartiality

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has proposed to the German government to give an evaluation of YouTube’s actions which removed two German-language RT channels (RT DE and DFP) and issue a broadcast license to RT DE in order to prove the absence of any malicious intent towards the broadcaster.

"In order to cease offering explanations on the absence of malicious intentions with regards to RT DE and demonstrate ‘a good attitude to the freedom of press,’ simply issue them a broadcasting permit as was done for a number of other foreign channels," the diplomat noted on her Telegram channel on Thursday.

She also wondered whether the German government considers such steps by YouTube "not a very good attitude to the freedom of the press" and urged it to provide an appropriate evaluation.

A Government By Christmas? After Indecisive Election Result, Germany Faces Months of Coalition Talks

As Europe’s economic powerhouse Germany embarks on the task of piecing together a new ruling coalition after Sunday’s knife-edge election, observers need only look to its neighbors, Belgium and the Netherlands, to see how tricky the process can be.

Olaf Scholz, leader of the center-left Social Democrats that narrowly beat outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel´s center-right Union bloc on Sunday sounded upbeat the morning after the vote.

“My idea is that we will be very fast in getting a result for this government, and it should be before Christmas if possible,” Scholz told reporters in Berlin. “Germany always has coalition governments and it was always stable.”

But with both parties finishing with well under 30% of the vote, the keys to power appear to be in the hands of two opposition parties – raising questions over the stability of a future government.

Vaccines for kids potentially more dangerous than COVID, German gov’t report indicates

According to a safety report published by the Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines in Germany, the number of reported cases of suspected adverse effects following COVID-19 vaccination in children aged 12 to 17 has now exceeded the total number of COVID-related hospitalizations for children within the same age group since the beginning of the pandemic.

The report, which was published on September 20 by the PEI (Paul-Ehrlich-Institut), a German federal agency and medical regulatory body in charge of promoting drug and vaccine safety, has released new data on COVID-19 vaccines adverse effects, particularly among children aged 12 to 17.

With militarised media as a weapon of mass deception, what is the plan?

Fernando Guevara argues that mainstream media, the police and other "civilian institutions", have become militarised. "Even on the internet, algorithms are re-set to catch what suits Zionists/Israel, while a lot of what sheds light on their terror is simply removed/de-platformed.">>

Russia must pay Ukraine to transit gas even after Nord Stream 2 pipeline operational, triumphant German SPD leader Scholz declares

The leader of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD) has said that Russia must keep handing over billions of dollars to move gas through Ukraine, long after the already-completed Nord Stream 2 underwater link starts operating.

Speaking on Monday, Olaf Scholz – whose grouping is on course to gain the most seats from the weekend Bundestag elections – said that Kiev’s role in transporting gas must not be undermined by the Moscow-backed project.

“With regard to the pipeline, the construction of which has been completed, it is important for everyone to take into account the guarantees that are associated with its operation. These guarantees include the fact that Ukraine must remain a transit country,” Scholz said.

Whoever claims the crown will drag Germany further into a giant EU blob, writes Bild's editor-at-large ALEXANDER VON SCHOENBURG

Now begins the wrangling. The imminent departure of Angela Merkel as Germany’s chancellor, amid the country’s closest election results in decades, leaves Europe’s powerhouse facing an uncertain future.

In a nation where coalitions are the norm, all politics is done by debate and negotiation rather than ballot-box victories.

But this time the power-sharing is more complex than ever. The most likely outcome might be a union of three Left-of-centre parties, in a wobbly triple combination. That’s something Germany hasn’t experienced since the early 1950s.

Only one thing is sure. Frau Merkel has embedded Germany so deeply in the European Union superstate that there can be no reversal of our headlong pro-Euro direction.

Germany is emasculated.

FRANCE AND GERMANY WANT TO REVISE THE NATO CONCEPT

There's a short article over at Russia's Sputnik website that, while small, indicates that the geopolitical waves from the Afghanistan fiasco continue to ripple throughout the American alliance system. This was shared by B., and it's well worth pondering its implications:

NATO Partners Agree to Revise Alliance's Concept, French Defence Minister Says

Note two significant things in this article:

NATO partners, at the initiative of France and Germany, agreed to revise the strategic concept of the alliance, French Defence Minister Florence Parly said.
"The reason for NATO's existence is transatlantic security. This is what we want to remind the United States of. Therefore, our partners decided, on our initiative, as well as on the initiative of Germany, to revise the strategic concept of the alliance," Parley said at a meeting of the French Senate.

German Government Moves to Regulate Telegram in Order to Curb "Corona Disinformation"

Social media has become the vanguard for big tech's censorship of any journalism, science, or free speech which challenges the narratives cast by the governments and their mainstream media conduits through big tech's hegemony. Time and time again, although alternatives to platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, et al. have arisen, they've been condemned, if not entirely shutdown. In most instances, these crackdowns have typically been abstract and unfounded assertions that alternative social media platforms are "disseminating misinformation" or "being used by domestic terrorists" despite no tangible proof to substantiate those outrageous claims being uncovered. To date, Parler's removal from Amazon's web hosting services as well as the Google Play and Apple App stores has put been the most high profile instance of this big tech censorship. Now, Telegram takes center stage as the most recent target of this assault against free speech.

Voters want Germany’s election winner SPD to seek coalition with Greens & FDP, not Merkel’s bloc – chancellor candidate Scholz

The Social Democrats’ candidate for Germany’s next chancellor, Olaf Scholz, said his party has received a mandate to form a government with the Greens and liberal FDP rather than with its old partner, Merkel’s center-right bloc.

“The voters have very clearly spoken. They said who should form the next government,” Scholz said on Monday.

They strengthened three parties – the Social Democrats, the Greens and FDP [Free Democratic Party]– and therefore that is the clear mandate that the citizens of this country have given. These three should form the next government.

Conservative wing of Merkel’s bloc says party leadership must resign after ‘debacle’ in Germany’s general election

The conservative wing of Angela Merkel’s center-right CDU/CSU union said the party’s leadership is responsible for the historic failure in Sunday’s parliamentary election in Germany.

“The board of directors and party leaders of the CDU and CDU must draw the conclusions from the election debacle in the federal elections on September 26, 2021 and resign immediately,” the party’s informal conservative wing, the Values Union, said in a statement.

The group argued that Armin Laschet, the CDU’s leader and candidate to replace Merkel as chancellor, and Markus Soeder, the head of the CDU’s sister party in Bavaria, the Christian Social Union (CSU), bear personal responsibility for the loss and must step down as well. The Values Union called for the new leadership of the CDU to be elected directly by all party members, rather than through a system of delegates.

The Values Union was formed in 2017, mostly by longtime members of the CDU and CSU, according to their website.

The mess Merkel leaves behind could eventually lead to the collapse of the EU. Now that would be a legacy to be proud of

What legacy does Merkel leave behind for the European Union? It’s one of resentment, border fences, anti-EU parties on the rise, a cultural divide between east and west, and who knows how many would-be jihadists on our streets.

One thing is for certain, Germany will have a new chancellor next week. This is important, not only for Germany, but also for Europe, and, indeed, the world.

The German chancellor is not only the highest ranking politician in Germany – the president is largely ceremonial – it also comes with the title of being the most powerful politician in the European Union.

Indeed, when it comes to European politics, what the German chancellor wants, they almost always get. It has ever been so.

This means that the German chancellor has the ability to frame European policy, and what they decide or do has a knock-on effect for everybody else.

Scholz’s SPD wins German election as conservatives drop to record low in 1st election without Merkel – preliminary results

The preliminary results of the German election show a victory for the Social Democrats, which edged out outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative CDU/CSU union by little more than 1%. All eyes now turn to coalition talks.

After running neck and neck with the center-right CDU/CSU union, led by Merkel’s successor, Christian Democrat Armin Laschet, Olaf Scholz’s center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) pulled ahead, receiving 25.7% of the vote, Germany’s electoral management body reported on Monday morning.

The CDU/CSU secured 24.1% of the vote in a historic low for the union in a federal election. The Greens, on the other hand, gained ground from 2017, receiving 14.8% of the vote, while the anti-establishment Alternative for Germany (AfD) received 10.3%. A potential kingmaker in the race, the classical liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), ended up with 11.5%. The Left Party (Die Linke) was around 5% short of its previous results, with 4.9%.

Will Germany Succeed in Detaching Itself From the Death Grip of the Anglo-American Empire?

As Germany moves ever closer to the Russian-Chinese’s multipolarism, will it succeed in avoiding the last squeeze from the Anglo-American Empire’s death grip?

As Pepe Escobar eloquently put it in his essay “Requiem for an Empire: A Prequel,” the days of clueless cold warriors dreaming of a Germany-Japan axis, and Washington’s opportunity to erect itself as Supreme World Paradigm saviour of the “free world,” or the unilateral 1990s basking in the tawdry “end of history” celebrations while “toxic neocons, gestated in the inter-war period via the gnostic cabal of New York Trotskyism, plotted their power takeover.”

Escobar rightly assesses that “today, it is…the specter of a Russia-China-Germany entente that terrorizes the Hegemon as the Eurasian trio capable of sending American global domination to the dustbin of History.”

Facing Inflation Threat, German Investors Loading Up On Gold

While most American investors have faith that the Federal Reserve can and will successfully tighten monetary policy to fight inflation — or have simply bought into the “transitory” inflation narrative — Germans are loading up on gold as a hedge against growing inflationary pressures.

Through the first half of the year, gold coin and gold bar demand in Germany hit the highest level since 2009 – the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. First-half demand for bar and coins in Germany increased by 35% from the previous six months, compared with a 20% increase in the rest of the world, according to World Gold Council data.

Out of 330 individuals listed as threats on the basis of “religious ideology” as of July 1, 186 were either exclusively German nationals or held a second citizenship in addition to the German one.

Protesters Take to Streets of Berlin to Rally Against COVID-19 Restrictions

German police on Saturday detained 78 people during an unauthorised march against COVID-19 restrictions in Berlin.

Sputnik is live from Berlin as people take to the streets to protest against COVID-19 restrictions. According to the organisers of the protest, the rally calls for “freedom and the restoration of people’s fundamental rights” amid the COVID-19 restrictions.

The German parliament extended the regime of the "epidemic situation of national significance" on Wednesday, allowing the government to take measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

In early summer, the Bundestag extended the COVID-19 emergency for three months as Germany had seen a surge in cases. While the measure would have automatically expired in September, the decision has been extended it for another three months.

German Corona critic fears for his life

Hockertz is an immunologist and toxicologist and not only a critic of Germany’s Corona measures but also of the gene injections, which for him represent “gross bodily harm” as Austrian weekly Wochenblick reported.

In March last year, the immunologist stated that Corona was comparable to the flu in terms of danger. His book Generation Maske also caused a sensation, in which he emphasized the harmful effects of wearing masks on children.

A few days ago, all Prof. Hockertz’s accounts were blocked and a garnishee order of 820 000 euros was issued. His lawyers are of the opinion that the tax allegations are groundless. Although it is not customary to arrest suspected tax evaders, Hockertz has decided to leave Germany. “I can no longer live here and certainly no longer work,” he is quoted as saying.

Merkel’s alliance falls behind Social Democrats for first time in 16 years, just a month before general elections – poll

Germany's Social Democratic Party has garnered enough public support to beat Chancellor Angela Merkel's center-right CDU/CSU bloc and emerge as the strongest political force just a month before the crucial national vote.

The Social Democrats have emerged as the strongest political force in Germany, according to one of the leading market research and opinion polling companies in Germany – the Forsa Institute. The center-left party enjoys the support of 23% of Germans, the Forsa poll, published on Tuesday, says.

That puts the Social Democrats one percentage point ahead of their long-time coalition partners, Merkel's Christian Democratic Union and their Bavarian allies from the Christian Social Union. Together, the liberal-conservative bloc known as 'the Union' is backed by 22% of the German citizens, the poll conducted for the German RTL and n-tv

German Economic Affairs Minister Altmaier: We will not allow Crimea to be turned into blind spot on map

German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier said that Germany will not allow Crimea to be turned into a blind spot on the map.

Altmaier said at the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform in Kyiv on Monday that Germany did not and will not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia. Germany is based on territorial integrity and sovereignty. They understand that the annexation has created a big problem in the region, which is why the EU imposed sanctions and extended them many times. It is the continuation of these actions that is the justification for the continuation of sanctions.

He stressed that the annexation of Crimea is an outrage against the rule of law.

Zelensky on weapons for Ukraine: We know how Germany could help

Ukraine still hopes that Germany will provide weapons and knows in which areas assistance is possible.

"We also appealed to the German government with a request of arms supplies and were indeed denied, in one form or another," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Europe, including Germany, supports Ukraine within the framework of the exercises, he added.

"But we need very substantive things. And we know in which areas Germany could support us. And we are still very much relying on it and waiting for it," the President added.

Pursuant to the agreements and within the framework of cooperation with NATO, the Ukrainian side expects to get sniper rifles, "many other things, apart from the navy and military boats, which we would like to receive from our partners," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian authorities seem set to leave the agreements that once managed to halt the conflict in the country's east, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said, urging Germany to “put pressure” on them to prevent it.

Speaking during a joint press conference following Kremlin talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday, Putin raised alarm over the actions of Kiev.
