THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"Stopping terrorism is simple. Just quit screwing around with other people's countries and the terrorists will go home. But the government of the United States wants to go on screwing around with other people's countries, refuses to stop, indeed views it as Manifest Destiny for the United States Government to persist in screwing around with other people's countries, and views the inconvenience, increased tax burden, loss of civil liberties, deaths among the American people, and even global war as just another cost of doing business." -- Michael Rivero

IPCC has warming "bias"

The UN body that advises world leaders on climate change must investigate an apparent bias in its report that resulted in several exaggerations of the impact of global warming, according to its former chairman.

In an interview with The Times Robert Watson said that all the errors exposed so far in the report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) resulted in overstatements of the severity of the problem.

Report: IRS divebomber posted communist-leaning, anti-Catholic, anti-Bush rant before crash

The New York Daily News is reporting that this screed is from Joe Stack, the alleged pilot of a plane that hit an Austin, Texas office building today that houses a local IRS office. Stack's rant inveighs against capitalism, Catholicism, and George W. Bush.

Read more at the Washington Examiner: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/R...

Webmaster's Commentary:

One need only get as far as the word "screed" to grasp that the government and media are desperate to demonize this guy as a nutcase and kook before people actually read his suicide note making the sounds on the internet. If you actually read what he wrote, you will see the last words of an ordinary working-class American no different than you and I, who was pushed one step too far by a government whose only morality is that the people shall make do with less so that the government shall have more./font>

ABCNNBBCBS are trying to convince you this guy was an unsympathetic nutcase, but then these are the same people who told you Saddam had "nookular" bombs, that swine flu would kill vast numbers of you, and that you are the cause for global warming. So, exercise the appropriate due diligence, and don't let ABCNNBBCBS tell you what reality is; go find out for yourself.

Obama Press Secretary threatens US attack of Iran. US military: when will you expose these war lies?

*hyperlinks and video live at source*

The US war emperors have no clothes. Iran never threatened to destroy Israel. Iran is in full compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), including their use of nuclear medicine with isotopes. It was the US who initiated the UN Charter that limits war to the narrowest use of self-defense only, almost identical in law to the limits for you or me as individuals.

When will leadership emerge from the US military and/or US government to speak these truths that are objective facts for anyone and everyone to verify?

Feb 18 10:51

The Law That Never Was

The authority of the federal government to collect its income tax depends upon the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the federal income tax amendment, which was allegedly ratified in 1913. After a year of extensive research, Bill Benson discovered that the 16th Amendment was not ratified by the required 3/4 of the states, but nevertheless Secretary of State Philander Knox fraudulently announced ratification.

The Future of the Dollar

The World is concerned that the dollar cannot play the role of the main reserve currency any longer after the financial crisis sparked by the collapse of the U.S. mortgage market led to the worst global recession since the 1930s. The Government’s stimulus packages, financial bailouts, the need to support liquidity in Treasuries, keeping interest rates at the lowest level under the circumstances of low economic growth, high unemployment and low tax collection make it print more dollars. This leads to a high risk of substantial inflation, or hyperinflation in a long-run.

Plane crashes into Northwest Austin building

A small single-engine plane crashed into a building in Northwest Austin Thursday morning, sparking a fire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Yes-sirree bob; that building's gonna come right down into its own footprint just like the World Trade Towers. Got a plane strike, fire, yep, any second that's gonna come right down. Any second. Gonna fall. Any second. Any second now. I forget, did a plane hit the WTC-7 building? No? Odd. Anyway, this here building will come right down into its own footprint any moment now. Really. Any moment."

UPDATE: The TV news is (surprisingly) confirming reports we got in the email earlier today that the plane crash was an intentional suicide attack on the offices of the IRS located in that building.

I say surprising because normally when IRS offices are burned or vandalized it is not reported lest it give the people "bad ideas."

But the latest report I have is that the IRS was seizing this guy's home, so he burned it down rather than let the government have it, then flew his plane into the IRS offices.

The Economic Elite Have Engineered an Extraordinary Coup, Threatening the Very Existence of the Middle Class

It has now become evident to a critical mass that the Republican and Democratic parties, along with all three branches of our government, have been bought off by a well-organized Economic Elite who are tactically destroying our way of life. The harsh truth is that 99 percent of the U.S. population no longer has political representation. The U.S. economy, government and tax system is now blatantly rigged against us.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The elites intend to destroy the Middle Class because it is from the Middle Class that opposition to oligarchy has traditionally arisen. Both in the US and French Revolutions, funding and direction came from the Middle Classes. Likewise the Russian Revolution emerged from the educated Middle Class, who then created a society with no middle class at all in order to prevent challenges to their power.

All tyrants follow the same recipe. Disarm the people and keep them poor.

Israeli assassinations: passports to kill - Our government seems to be fine with letting the Israeli secret service wage its war with Hamas under a British flag

British passports are the property of the British government. When that government says and does nothing for six days after it was given evidence that Mossad agents stole the identity of six British citizens to assassinate a Hamas commander in Dubai, it starts to seem as if Israel was right to think it could get away with it. The Israeli foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, yesterday predicted the incident would have no effect on British relations.

China 'a mystery' on Iran sanctions: Israeli UN envoy

China's position on toughened nuclear sanctions against Iran remains a "mystery," Israel's UN envoy said Tuesday, and doubted the Security Council would agree new punishments for Tehran this month.

Ambassador Gabriela Shalev also said that should efforts fail to frame a unified range of United Nations sanctions, it would be up to individual world powers to team up outside the Council to punish Iran economically.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Ambassador Gabriela Shalev: China has been making deals to develop Iran's oil fields. There are billions at stake here.
China won't do anything to jeopardize the energy they so desperately need.

And that statement that "...it would be up to individual world powers to team up outside the Council to punish Iran economically" is right on cue.

These multilateral sanctions will simply be a prelude to the war which will almost inevitably follow.

US Ships Arms, Blocks Humanitarian Aid to Somalia

UN officials today issued their most public condemnation yet of US policy on Somalia, noting that the US government is preventing millions of dollars worth of humanitarian aid, including food aid, from reaching the Somali people.

The US defended the policy, saying that they had “evidence” that some of the contractors shipping the aid in were forced to pay protection tolls to militant groups. They have demanded the UN enact policies that officials say will restrict aid delivery even further in the nation, where the US-backed government controls only a few city blocks around the presidential palace.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The people of Somalia are totally irrelevant and expendable to the US government: the only thing which matters is who, ultimately, controls the oil and mineral resources.

US has no plan for military action against Iran: Clinton

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said her country has no plan for military action against Iran over its nuclear programme, in a television interview broadcast on Wednesday.

"Obviously, we don't want Iran to become a nuclear weapons power, but we are not planning anything other than going for sanctions," she told Al-Arabiya television.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Any attempt to get the UN to go along with more stringent sanctions is a completely lost cause, as China (and possibly Russia) will veto sanctions, and Clinton knows that.

Any multilateral sanctions against Iran will almost inevitably lead to war; Clinton knows that also.

Israel may either create some kind of "false flag" incident to kick things off, or simply attack Iran unilaterally at first.

That, of course, will drag the US into the fray, because although Israel may well start such a military campaign, it cannot conclude such a campaign on its own without US military help.

Admiral Mullen, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, was in Israel over the weekend, and made a statement to the effect that the US would always protect Israel.

Clinton understands this also.

But threatening the UN to go along with sanctions because Israel may attack Iran is a very dicey tactic for the following reasons.

1. Iran is a signatory to the NNPT.

2. Consistent inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities have revealed no missing nuclear material, nor the level of uranium enrichment necessary to create a bomb. Yes, they are enriching uranium to 20% for medical isotopes. But weapons-grade uranium must be enriched to over 90%, which is not happening.

3. Israel has nuclear weapons, as confirmed by the revelations of Mordechai Vannunu, former Israeli Prime Minister Olmert, and former US President, Jimmy Carter.

4. Israel refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and consequently, there are no IAEA inspections of their nuclear facilities.

So what we have here is a threat by a rogue nation (Israel) to attack Iran, which is playing by all the NNPT rules unless the UN issues sanctions against Iran?!?

What's wrong with this picture?!?

Flipping everything!

And just as a little side note, the US is violating its own laws by giving any military and financial aid to Israel.

There's a law on the books called Symington Amendment, which forbids the US from giving any aid to any country which has nuclear weapons, but is not a signatory to the NNPT.

Chew on that one for a while as you're filling out your tax paperwork this year, with the understanding that the US gives 3 billion dollars every year in aid to Israel!

S.C. pol wants to ban U.S. currency

A lawmaker who introduced a bill to ban the use of Federal Reserve Notes in South Carolina says he doubts colleagues have the "intestinal fortitude" to pass it.

The measure, introduced this month by Republican state Rep. Mike Pitts, would ban what Pitts called "the unconstitutional substitution of Federal Reserve Notes for silver and gold coin" in his state, The Palmetto Scoop reported Wednesday. Some Straight Thinking About Iran

The Annual Threat Assessment overview was released by the office of the Director of National Intelligence on February 2nd. A forty-seven page unclassified version includes a page and a half on Iran’s proliferation threat. It raises legitimate concerns about Iran’s doubling of its number of operating centrifuges (while conceding that as many as half might not be working) and regarding what it describes as the secret nuclear facility near Qom. Apart from that, it supports the conclusions of the December 2007 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) which concluded that Iran had abandoned its nuclear weapons program and had not made the political decision to start it up again.

GAZA’S HUMAN DRAMA MUZZLED IN CANADA

On Monday, Feb. 15th, Cinema du Parc received an email insisting that CJPME’s Photo Exposition, Human Drama in Gaza, be immediately removed from the Cinema. The email was from a legal representative of Gestion Redbourne PDP Inc., the owners of the building housing Cinema du Parc. Big Pharma researcher admits to faking dozens of research studies for Pfizer, Merck

It's being called the largest research fraud in medical history. Dr. Scott Reuben, a former member of Pfizer's speakers' bureau, has agreed to plead guilty to faking dozens of research studies that were published in medical journals.

Now being reported across the mainstream media is the fact that Dr. Reuben accepted a $75,000 grant from Pfizer to study Celebrex in 2005. His research, which was published in a medical journal, has since been quoted by hundreds of other doctors and researchers as "proof" that Celebrex helped reduce pain during post-surgical recovery. There's only one problem with all this: No patients were ever enrolled in the study!

Dr. Scott Reuben, it turns out, faked the entire study and got it published anyway.

Obama Administration Eyes ‘More Confrontational’ Approach to Iran

Not that diplomacy will be abandoned publicly, as officials will continue to insist that they are seeking diplomacy, at least nominally, so they can accuse Iran of refusing to accept talks. Tough talk: Argentina president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has announced a decree on shipping

Britain has made 'all the preparations necessary' to protect the Falkland Islands, Gordon Brown said today.

His reassurance comes amid Argentinian efforts to control shipping in the region.

The Argentinian government has issued a decree that tightens control over shipping in the area ahead of British efforts to start oil and gas exploration off the islands' waters.

Mr Brown said he did not expect a need to send a task force to the area, saying: 'This is oil drilling that is exploration for the future.

The Senate on Thursday passed so-called pay-go legislation that would require Congress to pay for much of its future spending without adding to the deficit, but it exempted $82 billion from the requirement to prevent reductions to doctors’ Medicare reimbursement rates.

The move is significant because it would allow Congress to prevent five years’ worth of cuts. But Congress still must authorize the spending, which lawmakers are expected to consider this month. Otherwise, doctors would face a 21 percent cut in reimbursement rates beginning in March.

U.S. warns Iran of defiance's consequences

The Obama administration on Tuesday warned that Iran's rejection of international proposal on its nuclear program would result in consequences, saying engagement is a means to end the program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Once more, with feeling!

1. Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.
2. The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.
4. Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.
5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.
6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.
7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel's clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.
9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel's bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.
10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.
We all need to be Joe Wilson right now. We need to stand up and scream, "LIAR!" at every politician and every talking media moron that is pushing this war in Iran. And we need to keep dong it until they get the message that we will not be deceived any more.
Israel wants to send your kids off to die in Iran, and YOU are the only one that can stop them.

Alarm bells ring as demands for US Treasuries nosedive

Alarm bells ring in the US over the reluctance of foreigners in buying Treasury securities after a report showed a declining demand for long-term assets in December.

The Treasury Department says China and Japan have decreased their holdings in the treasury fund.

Beijing reduced its holdings by $34.2 billion to $755 billion entitling it to the second-largest foreign holder of US Treasuries behind Japan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The insatiable borrowing the US government has done to fund these wars without end may well signal the death of the American republic.

How Can Demanding Truth Be More Dangerous Than Demanding War?

I don't believe, or subscribe, to everything I read or hear on alleged 'conspiracy sites' like the ones run by Alex Jones or Mike Rivero's WhatReallyHappened.com, nor does anyone there demand I do so.

I don't see columnists or commenters, anyone in fact, at those sites demanding my country go to war against people on the other side of the planet who have never done me or my family harm, based on the flimsiest of evidence, or flat-out fearmongery.

But when I go to The Washington Post, or the New York Times, I see columnists demanding Iran be bombed, now. Again and again. It's no coincidence of course that is it usually the exact same people who in 2002 filled column after column in those newspapers demanding Iraq be bombed, then invaded.

Christian Right kidnappers

"HELP US...That's the message I would give to Mr. Obama and the State Department. Start helping us."

You might think that was the plea of a Haitian citizen following the devastating earthquake in January. But no, those words came from Carla Thompson--one of a group of 10 U.S. missionaries arrested by Haitian authorities on January 29, accused of trying to kidnap 33 Haitian children and take them across the border into the Dominican Republic.

At least 22 of the supposed "orphans" were found to have at least one parent still alive in Haiti.

Ruling: No Court Can Hear Abuse and Wrongful Death Claims from Guantanamo

In dismissing the case, the district court ruled that the deceased’s constitutional claims that it was a violation of due process and cruel treatment to detain them for four years without charge while subjecting them to inhumane and degrading conditions of confinement and violent acts of torture and abuse, could not be heard in federal court. The men were held on the basis of an "enemy combatant" finding by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal later found by the Supreme Court itself to be inadequate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If the government can arbitrarily deny these rights, then they are not rights at all, but merely indulgences granted by the master to a particularly obedient slave.

Lessons For America From The White Rose

Sixty-seven years ago, on February 18, 1943, three courageous, patriotic German college students from Munich, the birthplace of the Nazi party, were arrested by the Gestapo on charges of treason, a crime that was punishable by death. The three, 22 year-old medical student Christoph Probst, 24 year-old Hans Scholl, also a medical student, and Hans’ 21 year-old sister Sophie, were part of a small group of university students whose code name was The White Rose.

US new jobless claims post surprise jump

New claims for jobless insurance benefits in the United States posted a surprise rise, the Labor Department said Thursday amid concerns unemployment could dampen economic recovery.

The latest claims reading was larger than the forecast of most economists of around 430,000, as the world's largest economy emerged from its worst recession in decades with unemployment posing a key challenge.

Fourth Amendment Trashed As Airport Tyranny Hits The Streets

Tampa police, TSA and Homeland Security agents are teaming up “to keep your family safe,” according to ABC News, by implementing random searches at bus depots, in yet another example of how airport tyranny is being rolled out onto the streets.

“Bomb sniffing dogs, pat-downs and metal detector wanding, gloved inspections of hand-held bags” are all now going to become a routine part of everyday life as the Fourth Amendment is completely trashed in the name of “security”.

Ruling means Gitmo detainees have no legal protection: rights group

A federal court ruling this week that prevented the families of two dead Guantanamo detainees from seeking damages means that "no court can hear abuse and wrongful death claims from Guantanamo," says a human-rights group.

"In dismissing the case, the district court ruled that the deceased’s constitutional claims ... could not be heard in federal court," said the Center for Constitutional Rights, in a statement released Thursday.

On Wednesday, a US district court in Washington, DC, rejected claims for damages from the families of two Guantanamo inmates who were found dead in 2006.

Salah Ahmed Al-Salami and Yasser Talal Al-Zahrani, along with a third inmate, Mani Shaman Al-Utaybi, were found dead in their barracks with rags stuffed down their throats in June, 2006.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US Constitution and Bill of Rights, rest in peace.

This country is sliding down the slope of being a nation ruled by laws to a nation ruled by men at breakneck speed.

And if you think this kind of thing couldn't ever happen to American citizens, imprisoned on trumped up charges, you'd better think again.

Obama’s atomic blunder

As Vermont seethes with radioactive contamination and the Democratic Party crumbles, Barack Obama has plunged into the atomic abyss.

In the face of fierce green opposition and withering scorn from both liberal and conservative budget hawks, Obama has done what George W. Bush could not — pledge billions of taxpayer dollars for a relapse of the 20th century’s most expensive technological failure.

Obama has announced some $8.3 billion in loan guarantees for two new reactors planned for Georgia. Their Westinghouse AP-1000 designs have been rejected by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as being unable to withstand natural cataclysms like hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For all the money wasted in Afghanistan and Iraq we could have had fusion power by now. The Chinese have proven it works. Far safer than fission power, fusion power does not risk chain reactions and there is no major waste disposal problem. You cannot build bombs using a fusion reactor.

Grounds for Hope and Despair

It starts with little things and works its way up. Tens of thousands of people have experienced unsatisfactory encounters with the Transportation Safety Administration, otherwise known as the airport police. In a recent case a police officer and his wife were taking their four year old son to Disney World for his
birthday. The child has to wear leg braces due to problems associated with his premature birth. The TSA screener ordered the braces removed before the boy could walk through the detector. But, of course, the boy could not walk without the braces. The police officer and his wife were stunned to find that TSA cannot tell the difference between an American police officer and his disabled child and a terrorist threat.

Monetary reform: reclaiming $1 trillion every year through public creation of money

Without knowing how money is created and managed, all other topics concerning money are out of context. This is crucial: regarding trillions of dollars of economic power, you have no idea where money comes from. It’s time for you to learn.

Feb 18 01:28

Either pay the national debt with monetary reform or kiss your assets goodbye

Here is the elegantly simple and obvious solution: because a nation's government has the power to create money, do so. Instead of rolling-over the national debt as its individual securities come due and are redeemed (paying them by additional borrowing), just pay them with government created money. To avoid inflation, concurrently restrict the banking industry's fractional reserve power to inflate this money through lending by increasing their reserve requirement proportionally. The reserve requirement is the percentage of deposits they cannot create credit from when someone asks for a loan. This ends the debt while maintaining the money supply. The 8-minute video below will explain.

Repeal the 17th Amendment. Restore Liberty.

Until 1913, when the 17th Amendment was ratified, the citizens of the states elected U.S. senators indirectly: Voters elected the state legislators, and they in turn selected U.S. senators. From 1913 onward, voters have directly elected U.S. senators in statewide elections.

This change has led to a number of negative results, including

-Vastly increased federal power and vastly decreased state, local, and personal authority due to the state governments losing their representation in the federal government;

-The domination of Senate elections (and legislation) by forces outside of the particular states wherein elections are being held, e.g., out-of-state donations, political party operatives, and campaign consultants; and

Webmaster's Commentary:

Interesting that the 17th Amendment changing how Senators were elected occurred in the same year the Federal Reserve Act was passed and the 16th Amendment proclaimed to be "in effect" by Secretary of State Philander Knox.

Myth of the Iranian Nuke

Did Robert Gibbs let the cat out of the bag?

Last week, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the world that Iran, unable to get fuel rods from the West for its U.S.-built reactor, which makes medical isotopes, had begun to enrich its own uranium to 20 percent.

From his perch in the West Wing, Gibbs scoffed:

“He (Ahmadinejad) says many things, and many of them turn out to be untrue. We do not believe they have the capability to enrich to the degree to which they now say they are enriching.”

But wait a minute. If Iran does not “have the capability” to enrich to 20 percent for fuel rods, how can Iran enrich to 90 percent for a bomb?

Climategate 2.0 — The NASA Files: U.S. Climate Science as Corrupt as CRU

In August 2007, I submitted two Freedom of Information Act requests to NASA and its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), headed by long-time Gore advisor James Hansen and his right-hand man Gavin Schmidt (and RealClimate.org co-founder).

I did this because Canadian businessman Steve McIntyre — a man with professional experience investigating suspect statistical claims in the mining industry and elsewhere, including his exposure of the now-infamous “hockey stick” graph — noticed something unusual with NASA’s claims of an ever-warming first decade of this century. NASA appeared to have inflated its U.S. temperatures beginning in the year 2000. My FOIA request asked NASA about their internal discussions regarding whether and how to correct the temperature error caught by McIntyre.
