Russian Official Shocks By Urging Tactical Nuke Deployment In Syria After Bolton Warning

The long-running US and Russian proxy war in Syria has been largely forgotten of late, but suddenly snapped back into international headlines with John Bolton's warning Assad and Russia this week that Washington will respond with "greater military force" should claims of a Syrian government chemical attack emerge in Idlib.

In response, Russia subsequently warned of a staged "chemical provocation" coming and it appears a war of words is yet again ratcheting up over Syria, which has the very real potential of turning into an actual war.

It fits a familiar pattern on Syria since Russian intervention at the invitation of President Bashar al-Assad in 2015: just when it appears the jihadists are on the brink of final defeat, and as stability is returning after seven years of grinding war, something happens to bring things right back to the brink of global crisis and escalation.

And now, a senior Russian lawmaker in the Federal Assembly (Duma) has called on his government to draw its own "red lines" while suggesting the use of tactical nuclear weapons against United States forces in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This suggestion, in light of a potential US/Israeli "false flag" chemical attack at Idlib, to be blamed on the Syrians and Russians, demonstrates how quickly such a war could be cranked up to the point of no return.

And unfortunately, with the Manafort verdicts, and the Cohen plea-deal running the corporate news cycle right now, President Trump is dreadfully in need of a distraction, to turn attention away from the vomit-inducing, issue of his having hush money paid to either former flames, or women who wanted their "15 minutes of fame " (or utter contempt) for saying that they had a relationship with him.

What I hope the President understands is, how quickly a tactic like this (a false flag in Idlib) can get completely out of control, to the point of creating a shooting war against Russia.

Perhaps he may think that next week, with Americans generally distracted by the upcoming Labor Day holiday, may be "the perfect moment" to initiate such a false flag, or have the IDF do it.

But I hope (and pray) he understands that the ramifications of such an action may become impossible to stop, once they has been placed into motion; and the outcomes of such a war, may be both horrific.... and irreversible.

The painfully striking differences between the stances of candidate Trump - and then President Trump- are very difficult, and disappointing, to deal with, two years into his presidency.

I have to wonder if the American people will ever get a candidate who will really champion the needs and concerns of People over those of Israel, but am beginning to doubt that this is possible.
