How AG Barr Could Change The Federal Culture Of Corruption In Just 60 Days

I'm in my 30th year of covering national news and I've learned a hard truth about the federal government under numerous administrations. It's a culture where truth-telling is frowned upon; coverup is rewarded and encouraged.

That helps answer a question many have recently asked about the FBI and our intelligence community: Why haven't more whistleblowers come forward?

Several months ago, an FBI source told me that numerous whistleblowers had gone to members of Congress with information about the FBI and the Trump-Russia scandal, only to have congressional leaders turn their names over to the Department of Justice. True or not, this was the word on the street, and it had a chilling impact on other would-be whistleblowers.

The fact is, insiders know that things rarely turn out well for the whistleblowers. They and their families are targeted, attacked and smeared. They lose their jobs or chance to advance. Their health suffers. Their personal lives fall apart.

Ken Buck Quotes Jerry Nadler’s 1998 Opposition to Releasing Starr Report

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) on Wednesday quoted House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler’s (D-NY) statements opposing the release of Ken Starr’s report detailing how Bill Clinton lied under oath.
As the House Judiciary Committee considered whether to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress for refusing to hand over the unredacted Robert Mueller report, Rep. Buck resurfaced some quotes from Congressman Nadler opposing the release of the Ken Starr report. The Starr report detailed how then-President Bill Clinton lied under oath about his sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky.

Buck said, “Mr. Chairman, you said in 1998 that a report of this kind is ‘a prosecutor’s report,’ by its nature a one-sided report.”

The Colorado Republican also referenced Nadler’s comments that grand jury testimony is often “unverified” and could be “salacious,” and its release would be “unfair.”

Resurfaced clips of Schiff, Pelosi slamming GOP for contempt vote against Eric Holder aren’t aging well

Congressional Democrats have an uncanny “ability” to not recognize their own hypocrisy.

On Wednesday, the Democrat-led House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt of Congress for not providing them with access to special counsel Robert Mueller’s entire report, including confidential grand jury information.

Before and after the vote, various Democrat leaders issued grandiose speeches or statements decrying the Justice Department’s alleged “corruption” and warning of a “constitutional crisis.”

What’s notable is that the contempt vote and speeches occurred roughly seven years after the same Democrat leaders excoriated then-House Oversight Committee chair Darrell Issa for daring to hold then-Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.

‘OMG’: Emails Reveal Huma Abedin’s Reaction When Learning Hillary’s Server Was Target of Hacking

Huma Abedin, a top aide to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, had a simple three letter response upon learning that her boss’s private email server had been the target of a hacking attempt – “OMG.”

The revelation comes amidst the release of 277 pages of FBI files concerning Clinton.

One email in the document drop shows Abedin responding to IT professional Justin Cooper who explained that he had to shut down the supposedly secure server on January 9th, 2011, because “someone was trying to hack us.”

“I had to shut down the server,” Cooper wrote. “Someone was trying to hack us and while they did not get in I didn’t want to let them have the chance to.”

LIVE inside the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C. with the Embassy Protection Collective

History in the making, inside the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C: We are in the embassy to protect it from a takeover by an unelected group of Guaidó supporters, a takeover that would dangerously escalate the conflict.

This has never happened before in history, a group of Americans in a embassy in trying to stop a coup.

Graham: Christopher Steele was on the Democratic Party payroll

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared on Fox News Tuesday where he made clear that the author of the infamous Trump dossier Christopher Steele was on the Democratic Party payroll and had even petitioned agencies/agents within the deep state to issue FISA warrants which allowed for the illegal spying on of Donald Trump and associates.

The senior senator from South Carolina told Fox News host Sean Hannity that FISA warrants need to be based on actual verifiable and accurate intelligence in order to be properly issued which is something that obviously did not take place in this case.

"Christopher Steele went to the Department of State on October the eleventh to get the Department of State to release the dossier to the public for political reasons," Graham explained. "Ten days before they applied for the FISA warrant…"

James Comey is in trouble and he knows it

James Comey’s planet is getting noticeably warmer. Attorney General William Barr’s emissions are the suspected cause.

Barr has made plain that he intends to examine carefully how and why Comey, as FBI director, decided that the bureau should investigate two presidential campaigns and if, in so doing, any rules or laws were broken.

In light of this, the fired former FBI director apparently has decided that photos of him on Twitter standing amid tall trees and in the middle of empty country roads, acting all metaphysical, is no longer a sufficient strategy.

No, Comey has realized, probably too late, that he has to try to counter, more directly, the narrative being set by the unsparing attorney general whose words in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week landed in the Trump-opposition world like holy water on Linda Blair. Shrieking heads haven’t stopped spinning since.

FBI boss says it did NOT spy on Trump's 2016 campaign despite his boss Bill Barr using the word and says he knows of NO 'illegal surveillance'

FBI Director Chris Wray said Tuesday that he does not consider court-approved FBI surveillance to be 'spying' and said he has no evidence the FBI illegally monitored President Donald Trump's campaign during the 2016 election.

His stance put him at odds with Attorney General Barr, who used that exact term during testimony in recent weeks.

Asked by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a New Hampshire Democrat, if he would say the FBI is 'spying' when it investigates suspected terrorists and mobsters, Wray replied, 'Well, that's not the term I would use.'

His comments at a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing broke from Barr, who said last month that he believed the Trump campaign had been spied on during an investigation into potential collusion with Russia.

Bill Clinton says Kavanaugh fight was payback for Vince Foster

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh got what he deserved when he was accused in his confirmation hearing of sexual assault — because of his role in investigating the Clintons in the 1990s, former President Bill Clinton suggested.

"He didn't have any problem making us put up with three years of Vince Foster nonsense that was a total charade," Clinton, 72, said Sunday during a joint appearance with his wife Hillary at the Park Theater in Las Vegas during the last stop in the 10-event "An Evening With the Clintons” speaking tour.

Trump Derangement Syndrome Blocks Action On Immigration, Higher Ed Crises (They're Related)

So I sit down after dinner to watch some political shows on TV. What are they talking about? The Mueller Report. Still talking about it, still getting heated about it. I get to thinking about the opportunity cost of all the anti-Trump passion that is still, after more than two years, roiling our national legislature. Two issues, immigration and Higher Ed, are most urgently in need of legislative and/or Executive Action. We’re not getting it, though, as long as so much of our political energy is going into this tiresome campaign to find President Trump guilty of something—anything.

McConnell: ‘Outrage Industrial Complex’ Is Grieving Over Not Finding Conspiracy, Case Closed!

About time Republican “leadership” in Congress give at least rudimentary support for the president. The senate republicans are only in power because they rode on Trump’s coat tails in the 2018 election.

On Tuesday, Sen. Mitch McConnell, Majority Leader, delivered a stinging rebuke of whiny Democrats trying to extend the Russian investigation by way of obstructing justice with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who found no evidence that Trump’s 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.

McConnell declared; “The special counsel’s finding is clear. Case closed.”

The Growth of the American Police State

By Stefan Kløvning

Among the many violations of the rights to life, liberty, and property Americans have experienced in later decades, the increasing degree of police brutality has played an especially scarring role. Every year, over a thousand people are killed by the police, and every single day there are new victims who lose their lives or get raped, beaten, tortured, or robbed by police officers. Congress and the courts have been complicit in this development, allowing the vast majority of cops accused of misconduct go without punishment or financial liabilities and providing them with increasingly larger budgets and more powerful military equipment. Looking at the bigger picture of police brutality in the United States, one may recognize commonalities with more totalitarian and repressive States like Russia and China, and that may be where the US is approaching if it does not soon change its course...

What if Government Suddenly Disappeared?

By Peter C. Earle

If the strange and little-known case of the condominium of Moresnet — a wedge of disputed territory in Northwestern Europe, and arguably Europe’s counterpart to America’s so-called Wild West — acts as our guide, we must conclude that there is an inverse relationship between the size and scope of government and the potential for both peace and prosperity.

The remarkable experiment that was Moresnet was an indirect consequence of the Napoleonic Wars (1803–15), which, like all wars, empowered the governments of participating states at the expense of their populations: nationalism grew more fervent, many nations suspended specie payments indefinitely, and a new crop of destitute amputees appeared in streets all across Europe...

Facts and Figures on Washington's Immense Defense Lobbying Industry

I haven't posted on this specific subject for some time and, given the upcoming midterm elections and the meeting between the leaders of Russia and the United States, I thought it was time to revisit one of the most powerful groups in the United States, the defence industry. Thanks to Open Secrets, we have ready access to how much the defence sector has contributed to politicians and how much it spends on lobbying. This is particularly pertinent given the hundreds of billions of dollars that are transferred from American taxpayers to a handful of companies every year.

Let's start by looking at the defence industry's contributions to those who are supposed to represent Americans in Washington. Here is a graphic showing the sector's long-term political contributions:

'I'd Call That Spying': CIA's Ex-Counterintel Chief Says FBI Conducted Espionage On Trump Campaign

The FBI's use of "confidential human informants" to obtain information from Trump campaign officials under false pretenses was straight up spying, according to the CIA's former head of counterintelligence, James Olson, a 30-year agency veteran who served under six presidents, and who once conducted an undercover overseas mission with his wife.

Sorry Bernie and AOC! New Poll Shows Only 10 Percent of Americans Want Socialism

Between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal” and Bernie Sanders‘ “Medicare-for-All,” we hear a lot about the supposed newfound popularity of socialism in the United States today. But a new poll released Monday shows that only a very small minority of Americans favor such a system.

Universal Basic Income Is a Pandora’s Box

By Paul Boyce

The case for a Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a strong one, in some ways. A UBI would stimulate aggregate demand, help those affected by technological change, and create a basic income for the poor. Its effectiveness and impact, however, depend on how much is given out. The benefits and consequences of a $100 UBI will be very different than one of $1,000. Therefore, for the purpose of this analysis, I will look at the case for a $1,000 per month UBI—as suggested by presidential candidate Andrew Yang...

Donald Trump Should be Prosecuted for Failing to Register as an Agent of a Foreign Government

US President Donald Trump has proved himself not to be an agent of the American people, but an agent of Israel.

With his administration’s decision to send an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf, the latest of his escalations in the Middle East, it is only appropriate that he be required to register as an agent of a foreign government.

It is the law that in order to work in the US on behalf of a foreign government, you need to register as such. Recently, there were two high-profile cases where people have been sent to prison for failure to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, namely, those of Paul Manafort and Maria Butina.

As we are all too well aware, Donald Trump has done nothing for America.

Media Blackout: U.S. and Iran Tensions Rise -- Iran Claims Arrest of 290 CIA Agents; U.S. Sends 2 Aircraft Carriers To Mediterranean; Bolton & Pompeo Issue Threats

By Aaron Kesel

U.S. and Iranian tensions are rising at a rapid rate. National Security Adviser John Bolton has publicly acknowledged deploying the U.S.S Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) region as a “clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force.”

However, this follows reports on April 22nd that the U.S.S. John C. Stennis and Abraham Lincoln carrier strike groups have joined the US Mediterranean 6th Fleet for the first time in more than two years, as DEBKAfile reported. For those unaware, DEBKA is used by Mossad intelligence very frequently to get their news/intelligence within the Middle East...
