Ex-CIA chief will be sentenced for leaking military secrets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former CIA Director David Petraeus, whose career was destroyed by an extramarital affair with his biographer, was expected to be sentenced Thursday in federal court in Charlotte for giving her classified material while she was working on the book.

Petraeus will appear at the sentencing, which comes two months after he agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material.

The plea agreement carries a possible sentence of up to a year in prison. In court papers, prosecutors recommended two years of probation and a $40,000 fine. But the judge is not bound by that and could still impose a prison sentence.

The agreement was filed in Charlotte, where Paula Broadwell, the general's biographer and former lover, lives with her husband and children.

From Vietnam to ISIS: Canada needs to apologize

As Canadians pat themselves on the back for taking in Vietnamese refugees at the end of the 1970s, it is perhaps an appropriate time for Canada to apologize to the Vietnamese people for our collective role in creating the refugee flow in the first place.

Canada played a significant role in decimating their country (as well as Laos and Cambodia), aiding and abetting, for example, the permanent alteration of an entire people's gene pool through the production and supply of chemical and biological warfare agents for U.S. forces. The fallout was subsequent generations marked by grotesque physical deformities and severely retarded brain and motor function development. Indeed, Canada produced the chemical defoliant Agent Orange, a dioxin-laced carcinogen, 43 million litres of which were dumped by the U.S. Air Force (this on top of 30 million litres of related defoliants). U.S. soldiers who came home from Vietnam having been soaked in the stuff experienced similar horrors.

California's SB277 mandatory vaccination bill passes Senate committee after votes rigged, public testimony silenced

After California's vaccine mandate bill SB277 was halted last week with an outcry of public outrage against it, the pro-vaccine mafia machine went to work. Democratic Sens. Ben Allen of Santa Monica and Richard Pan of Sacramento helped pursue a vote rigging agenda to replace seats on the committee with pro-vaccine industry sellouts. A new democrat, Sen. Bill Monning, was chosen to fill a vacant seat, and with his vote in favor of stripping Californians of vaccine exemption rights, SB277 was approved today.

BEX ALERT - Another study finds no link between MMR vaccine and autism

Another scientific study has added to what has become a mountain of evidence that there is no link between autism and the vaccine that prevents measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).

These latest findings are based on a study of 95,000 U.S. children. Among the kids, approximately two per cent had an older sibling diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Webmaster's Commentary:

The study was basically funded by UnitedHealth, a health insurance provider, who wants to evade having to pay victims of vaccine-induced autism.

Patriot Act Gets New Lease on Life From McConnell Bill

Sen. McConnell's legislation "to extend authority relating to roving surveillance, access to business records, and individual terrorists as agents of foreign powers under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978..." isn't yet formally on the Senate calendar, but that shouldn't be too much of an obstacle for McConnell. He intends to "bypass the traditional committee process," according to Dustin Volz at National Journal.

McConnell is a long-time fan of the surveillance state.

Time to Wake up to some Realities on the Iran Deal

Too many cooks spoil the broth, and that appears to be precisely what the Senate had in mind.

Evidently Obama has concluded that a veto-proof majority in both Houses stood behind the Foreign Relations Committee bill, and reluctantly conceded. But that wrests control of the process out of the hands of the Administration. The Iran deal may have died this afternoon.

To make sense of the events that have led to the current negotiations over Iran’s so-called nuclear ambitions, certain elemental realities should be highlighted:

Food Chain Catastrophe: Emergency Shut Down Of West Coast Fisheries: “Populations Have Crashed 91 Percent”

Earlier this week Michael Snyder warned that the bottom of our food chain is going through a catastrophic collapse with sea creatures dying in absolutely massive numbers. The cause of the problem is a mystery to scientists who claim that they can’t pinpoint how or why it’s happening.

Fast Tracking Democracy to Hell: Why the Trans-Pacific Partnership Is a Rotten Deal

Free traders in Congress formally proposed last week that lawmakers relax, put their feet up and neglect the rigor of legislative review for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade scheme.

The TPP is a secret deal among 12 Pacific Rim nations that was covertly negotiated by unelected officials and corporate bosses. It’s so clandestine that lawmakers elected to represent the American people were refused access to the deliberations. It would expand secret trade tribunals that corporations use to sue governments over democratically established laws and win compensation from taxpayers.

After Lord Janner I now believe the Establishment DOES shamelessly twist justice to protect its own

There was a time when I regarded the idea of an ‘Establishment cover-up’ with a pinch of salt. Was it really plausible that the powers-that-be should act in concert over a prolonged period of time to suppress the truth?

Even if they attempted to do so, surely some decent person would sooner or later speak out, or inform the Press. It seemed unlikely that evil on a vast scale could be concealed more or less indefinitely in what is supposed to be a free and open society.

I’m afraid a succession of sex abuse cases have blown apart my preconceptions. It’s plain beyond any dispute that politicians, senior policemen and members of the security services have conspired to protect abusers because they were considered important, and to deny their victims justice.

Whistleblowers reveal criminal practices of pharmaceutical industry in stunning interviews

Before you rush out to get the MMR vaccine for your child or sign up for the latest statin or antidepressant pharmaceutical pill in obedience to the television, you might want to first consider what several former pill pushers-turned-whistleblowers have to say about how drugs and vaccines are actually approved, marketed and dispensed to the masses in today's corrupt regulatory paradigm.

Confirmed: Lobbyists Calling the Shots for SB277; Community Outpour Ignored

After passing the Sacramento Health Committee vote, the bill was delayed as committee chair Senator Carol Liu wisely told the bill’s author Richard Pan “If I were you, I would not take a vote today.” At the conclusion of the vote, Liu asked Senator Pan point blank how he wanted to proceed. To this, Pan, appearing to have no power to make the decision, turned to lobbyists Jodi Hicks and Janus Norman for advice. It is telling that, here, the authors Senator Pan and Ben Allen appear to be told what to do and how to do it. Pan is making his decisions based not on the thousands of families that showed up in protest, but from lobbyists. When Richard Pan turns to Hicks and Norman for his orders, it becomes clear that these individuals are the ones behind senate bill 277.

Hillary's back in first class at end of New Hampshire campaign trip where she railed against the rich – after 80 mph race to BOSTON to catch flight with elite seats

Hillary Clinton ended her whirlwind New Hampshire campaign swing on Tuesday afternoon in another state entirely, taking taxpayers for an 80 miles-per-hour ride all the way to Boston – to catch a flight with first class seats.

Her Secret Service-provided 'Scooby' van motored from Concord to Boston Logan International Airport, escorted by troopers from both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

She arrived in time to take a 7:00 p.m. US Airways shuttle to Washington, D.C. On the way, her motorcade passed exits to the Manchester, N.H. airport, which was 55 miles closer and offered a 5:16 p.m. flight to the same destination.

The Boston flight, though, used a larger aircraft with 12 first class seats. The Manchester flight was scheduled to use a smaller plane with nothing but coach.

Giant money sucking sound: Bill and Hillary Clinton's sellout of America

According to reports already known, foreign individuals and organizations donated millions of dollars to the foundation and gave former President Bill Clinton high-dollar speaking fees while his wife served as President Barack Obama's Secretary of State. She in turn is accused of granting favors from her State Department, all the while transacting business using a private email account and a Clinton owned and controlled Internet server.

Twilight Zone Economics

The US government has annual income of approximately $3 Trillion and official debt in excess of $18 Trillion. This does not count other liabilities such as Fannie and Freddie, and massive unfunded liabilities. But assuming “only” $18 Trillion in debt (optimistic) the US has the same ratio as a family with $60K income and $360K in credit card debt.

But this is not recognized as a problem because the Treasury sells bonds and the Fed “prints” the currency to buy the bonds. Debt increases and the US government spends. Life is good for politicians and bankers.

Did Hillel board member inappropriately advise Stanford on divestment request?

A board member of an Israel-aligned group played a key role in discussions which led administrators at California’s Stanford University to reject calls for the college to divest from firms which abet the oppression of Palestinians.

This week, the Students for Justice in Palestine group at Stanford learned that Susan Weinstein, chairperson of the Advisory Panel on Investment Responsibility and Licensing (APIRL) — which evaluated the request to pull university investments in US companies that profit from violations of Palestinians’ rights — was, until late January, concurrently serving as a director on the board of Stanford’s Hillel chapter.

Take Action: Tell Senate Finance Committee You Support BDS

We just learned that Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) will introduce an anti-BDS amendment to a bill in the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday. While the exact text isn’t public yet, the amendment will be similar to a bill—S.619, the United States-Israel Trade Enhancement Act of 2015—he introduced last month.

Please call Sen. Cardin’s office today at (202) 224-4524 to oppose this legislation (talking points are below).

Cardin’s bill would make it a “principal trade negotiating objective of the United States” to “discourage politically motivated actions” that “limit commercial relations” with Israel and Israeli businesses, including those operating in illegal Israeli colonies in Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Monsanto Levies Charges of “Junk Science” Against Top World Health Experts, EWG Calls for a Retraction

Monsanto has worked hard (and spent an absurd amount of money on PR) to defend its company’s image, but a spate of negative press in recent weeks is really starting to take its toll on the company.

If a Clinton were to marry a Bush, the US could cancel elections

With apologies to their respective spouses, if Jeb Bush’s son, George P. Bush, had married Chelsea Clinton, Americans could have spared themselves the spectacle of Election 2016 and saved billions of dollars.

All that the USA needs now is for a young Clinton to pair up with a junior Bush. Should the union produce an heir, a single line of monarchy would be established. This is the reality of the USA’s broken politics in 2015. A country pretty much established in opposition to hereditary elites now has the most closed political system in the Western world.

Hillary Clinton Calls For ‘Toppling’ the 1%…While Being Bankrolled by the 1%

This really happened. As crazy as it sounds, Hillary Clinton is trying to repackage her war-torn reputation into a populist spitting image of progressive icon Elizabeth Warren. As Yemen is pulverized into oblivion, it remains unclear just exactly what Riyadh hopes to achieve in this war. Washington has tied itself to this conflict, but can’t control or explain it.

WEBMASTAR ADDITION: The explanation is simple, but cannot be made public. in 2012 the US intervened in Yemen, drove out the legitimate government of President Salah, and imposed a US puppet Ruler, Hadi, on the people of Yemen. The people of Yemen don't like having their nation ruled by a government that serves a foreign nation, and are trying to kick Hadi out and bring Saleh back. So the US, using Saudi Arabia as a proxy, is having to go back into Yemen to bomb and starve those people until they remember that, like the provinces of ancient Rome, once conquered they are expected to remain conquered. The people of Yemen do not agree.

Ditto Iraq.

Ditto Libya.

Ditto Ukraine.

Ditto Iran.

The leaders of nations will gladly kill each other over who gets to rule what region, but can be counted on to unite against any people that dares think they should rule their own country!

Hillary: The President America Deserves

“It’s time” for Hillary, and who can disagree? It doesn’t matter that no one who isn’t being paid to say it sincerely believes she can lead the country. She is precisely what the American system is designed to produce.

Mencken said of American government:

“All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre—the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

New Zealand’s Premier Apologizes for Pulling Waitress’s Hair

The waitress made her complaint public in an anonymous blog post on Wednesday, saying that Mr. Key, a frequent visitor to the Auckland cafe where she works, had tugged on her ponytail repeatedly over a period of months
***
In her blog post, the waitress said that at first she did not complain directly to the prime minister, but that when he tried to pull her hair on March 13, she backed away, wagged her finger and repeatedly said no. Two weeks later, she said, after he tugged on her hair once more as he left the cafe, she told him, “Please STOP or I will actually hit you soon!”

According to the waitress, Mr. Key returned shortly thereafter with two bottles of wine and said: “This is for you, sorry. I didn’t realize.” She wrote that his assertion that he had not been aware his behavior was unwelcome “was almost more offensive than the harassment itself.”
