The National University of Cordoba, Argentina has dropped the administrative sanctions it had planned against a doctor who conducted cancer research in the town of Monte Maiz in the face of huge popular and scientific support for his work.

Dr Medardo Avila Vazquez and his team conducted a survey that found that the incidence of cancer in Monte Maiz was three times the provincial and national average, correlating with exposure to pesticides in the area. The main crops grown are GM soy and maize.

The administrative sanctions against Dr Vazquez were requested by Juan Marcelo Conrero, the dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

The two suspects were then reportedly killed by the police officers outside the venue. The identity and motivation of the gunmen is still not known as of press time.

Saudi jets target Yemen food trucks

Saudi fighter jets have targeted two trucks of food in Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada amid the deepening humanitarian crisis in the war-torn Arab country.

The fresh airstrikes were carried out on Sunday in the Malahidh area near the Saudi border.

Saudi fighter jets also struck Adan’s International Airport after the popular committees, loyal to Ansarullah fighters, took full control of the site.

The Saudi warplanes also bombarded Wadi Lieh district in the province.

There have been no immediate reports about the casualties of the attacks.

Saudi authorities have defied numerous warnings of a deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen and blocked relief aid shipments to Yemen.

The UN says key infrastructure including water supplies, health services and telecommunications in Yemen are on the verge of collapse.

This is precisely what the Saudi government and military, backed by their US enablers, want to have happen.; slaughter of the highest magnitude, against the innocent; women, children, elderly, and medically fragile.

I remember the mental images I had as a child of this country's government; tolerant, generous, loyal to allies, and deeply observant of the principals of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Unfortunately, at this time in this government's existence, it has become afraid of its own people, and wants to control them through 24/7 surveillance, even if they have done nothing wrong.

Planned aid flights to Yemen have been blocked after Saudi Arabian jets bombed the runway at Sana’a airport on Tuesday.

Aircraft belonging to the Saudi Arabian-led coalition carried out the bombings on Tuesday afternoon to prevent an Iranian plane from landing in the Yemeni capital, a spokesman for the coalition said.

Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri said the plane had not coordinated with coalition authorities and the pilot had ignored a warning to turn back. The bombing of the runway made it unusable for planned aid flights, he said.

Fighting escalates across Yemen, air strikes on capital Sanaa

There were at least five air strikes on military positions and an area near the presidential palace compound in the Houthi-held capital Sanaa at dawn on Sunday, while warships pounded an area near the port of the southern city of Aden, residents said.

"The explosions were so big they shook the house, waking us and our kids up. Life has really become unbearable in this city," a Sanaa resident who gave his name as Jamal told Reuters.

Back in 2012, the US intervened and kicked out President Salah, installing a US puppet ruler Hadi. The people of Yemen tried to kick Hadi out and bring back Salah and that is why the US, using Saudi Arabia as a proxy, is bombing Yemen, to punish them for daring to think Yemen should be run for the benefit of the Yemenite people.

And in their eagerness to conform to the general theme of an Iran vs. US-Saudi proxy war in Yemen, the media’s treatment of alleged Iranian arms to the Houthis has ignored the fact that the Houthis had forged an alliance by early 2014 with a far larger source of arms: former President Ali Abdullah Saleh. It was that alliance that propelled the Houthis into power last September, not their ties with Iran.

It turned out that the warship was being sent primarily to symbolise US support for the Saudis, and the Pentagon made no mention of Iranian arms when it announced the move. But the story of the US navy intercepting Iranian arms was irresistible, because it fit so neatly into the larger theme of Iran arming and training the Houthis as its proxy military force in Yemen.

It is really quite simple, Pat. back in 2012, the US "intervened" in Yemen to kick out the legitimate government of Yemen that wanted to rule Yemen for the benefit of Yemen and installed a US puppet that ruled Yemen for the benefit of American corporations. This is something the US has attempted against the governments of more than fifty other nations since the end of WW2, succeeding about half the time. The successes include Cuba in 1952, Iran in 1953, Chile in 1973, and Egypt in 2013. Obama bragged about the Yemen success in 2012! But the old model is starting to fall apart. The US plan of covert overthrow only works when the people of a nation follow the new Junta as they followed the previous leaders. But that has started to break down. The people of Cuba kicked out their US puppet in 1959. Iran kicked out their US puppet, the Shah, in 1979. The people of Eastern Ukraine responded to the US backed coup in Kiev by simply breaking off and trying to go their own way.

so now in Yemen, their people are tired of the US puppet Hadi and want their own President Saleh back. The American Empire, alarmed at how the pesky conquered provinces are refusing to stay conquered, is going to make an example of Yemen, one of the poorest nations in the Middle East, that you accept and love your US puppet rules or bad things will happen to you such as starvation blockades and the bombing of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

US INTELLIGENCE: HOUTHIS ARE NOT IRAN PROXY

“It remains our assessment that Iran does not exert command and control over the Houthis in Yemen,” Bernadette Meehan, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council, told The Huffington Post.

Instead of rescuing US citizens trapped in Yemen, the US has been rescuing Saudi bombers, refueling Saudi bombers, directing Saudi bomb-attacks from within and outside of Saudi Arabia, and re-arming Saudi Arabia with bombs and ammunition – all openly announced by US officials in public statements. Such behavior is standard operating procedure and unsurprising to people who seriously follow US actions.

One has to wonder if the Americans have been left stranded to provide more bloody shirts to wave in an attempt to get the American people on board with a US ground invasion of Yemen (as though that has not already most probably begun).
