Report Reveals Rise in Number of Non-Native Suspects in Germany's Murder Cases

The survey came as the eastern German city of Chemnitz entered the seventh day of anti-migration rallies over the deadly stabbing of a 35-year-old German of Cuban origin and the arrest of two alleged perpetrators from Iraq and Syria.

At least one "non-German" suspect was involved in the country's closed murder cases in 2017 and their number has already significantly increased, according to a report released by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).

The report said that last year saw a 33-percent surge in the number of closed murder cases, and that 731 people had died as a result of murder or manslaughter in 2017, which is a 16.6-percent drop compared to 2016. The survey did not elaborate on nationality or whether a suspect was an EU citizen.

EU Will Not 'Sit Like Rabbit in Headlights' in Face of US Sanctions - German FM

Washington’s decision to ramp up tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union has cost European producers billions in lost revenue and exacerbated US-EU tensions.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has urged the European Union to stand up for its interests in the face of sanctions and excessive tariffs imposed on its partners by Washington.

“We should not sit like a rabbit in the headlights in the face of [US] economic sanctions and tariffs. We must protect our own interests. It is not only the 80 million Germans we are talking about, it is Europe and the 500 million people living there,” Maas said in an interview with the newspaper Bild published on Sunday.

Germany Rising? Thousands March in Chemnitz

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, let's see the left's logic: People of German ethnic heritage have built Germany, built it's culture, language, music, books, buildings and many things for thousands of years, but it's "racist" if these ethnic Germans don't want to be genetically replaced, in their own country?...against their will? The left clearly is insane. Merkel has to go.

Bavaria's Border Patrol Too Effective For Merkel's Allies

Bavaria's new border patrol has logged over 1,750 civil and criminal indictments in the past month, which is motivating Angela Merkel and her allies to backtrack on their "open borders" policies.

Border agents have arrested over 500 wanted persons and stopped over 220 illegal attempts to cross the border, according to Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann.

The agency reached those stats despite the fact that, when it was created on July 18, the German federal government severely restricted its powers.

The right-wing protesters chanted 'We are the People' and the Nazi-era term 'Luegenpresse' (lying press) while displaying placards that read 'Stop the refugee flood' and 'Defend Europe', the latter adorned with an image of an automatic rifle.

Some carried banners or insignia of the far-right AfD and neo-Nazi NPD parties and other extremist groups, while a handful delivered the illegal right-handed Hitler salute, police said.

German FM: Europe Should React to US Sanctions Targeting Russia, China, Turkey

Earlier, Wolfgang Buchele, head of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (OAOEV), warned that the prospects for German-Russian trade are still marred by new US anti-Russian sanctions, which are "dangerous because they can target European partners of Russian companies."

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has urged Europe to react to the US sanctions-related policy on Russia, China, Turkey and other important economic partners.

"Washington prompts us to formulate European responses to its sanctions-related policy, something which pertains to Europe and Germany. We should react to the United States suddenly imposing uncoordinated and rather nonspecific sanctions against Russia, China, Turkey and in the future, perhaps, against other important trading partners," he underlined.

Germany Calls For Global Payment System Independent Of The US

In a stunning vote of "no confidence" in the US monopoly over global payment infrastructure, Germany’s foreign minister Heiko Maas called for the creation of a new payments system independent of the US that would allow Brussels to be independent in its financial operations from Washington and as a means of rescuing the nuclear deal between Iran and the west.

Writing in the German daily Handelsblatt, Maas said "Europe should not allow the US to act over our heads and at our expense. For that reason it’s essential that we strengthen European autonomy by establishing payment channels that are independent of the US, creating a European Monetary Fund and building up an independent Swift system," he wrote, cited by the FT.

MAJOR GERMAN FM STATEMENT: ‘We Will Not Allow The U.S To ACT AT OUR EXPENSE’

The following text in full, was written just yesterday by the German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, on the authoritative Handelsblaat. This is a major statement, as it carries weight just below official German policy, which in turn has strong weight on EU policy.

There are a number of highly significant and important phrases he uses in this text. Even American cultural hegemony is rejected, i.e., ‘Bruce Springsteen is not the future’.

FRN has consistently covered the growing rift, with all its nuances, between the U.S and EU since 2014. At the time, many critics believed we were totally wrong. Time has demonstrated FRN’s analysis to be generally correct. – ed

GERMANY: “NO ONE RECOGNIZES OUR CITY ANYMORE” RESIDENTS COMPLAIN AFTER 1,200 MIGRANTS MOVE IN

Residents of Boostedt, Germany complain that “no one recognizes our city anymore” after 1,200 migrants moved in, increasing the population by 26 per cent.

Mayor Hartmut König said that the town, which now has 4,600 inhabitants, had changed drastically since the migrants were housed at a local military barracks.

“It’s quite simply the behavior. For example, in shops things are stolen. I experienced it myself: three refugees walking on the pavement, not making enough room for a woman with a pushchair and a child coming in their direction. They make no room; she has to move onto the street to get around them,” the mayor said.

“Besides that, they leave piles of rubbish and use every available space to sit around and drink beer,” he added.

German trade surplus still largest in the world

According to the Institute of Economic Research (IfO), Germany will have the biggest account surplus in the world for the third successive year in 2018. It is not only Donald Trump who is irritated by the country’s export-heavy economy.
The IfO calculate that Germany’s trade surplus will lie at around $299 billion this year, miles ahead of Japan, the Netherlands and China, Spiegel reported on Monday.

That is mostly down to an enormous import-export imbalance when it comes to goods, IfO’s Christian Grimme told the Spiegel. Germany is set to export around $265 million worth more of goods than it will import in 2018.

At the other end of the IfO’s figures, the country with the largest trade deficit in 2018 was set to be the USA.

With these tactics it was important to leave a few survivors, who would report the supposed “German Atrocities.”

Putin sides with Merkel on controversial Nord Stream 2 project despite US pressure

VLADIMIR Putin has vowed to work alongside Angela Merkel to complete a contentious gas pipeline which President Donald Trump has insisted will keep Germany “captive to Russia”.

Speaking ahead of bilateral talks with his German counterpart, Mr Putin insisted the Nord Stream 2 project is “purely economic”.

The multi-billion pound Nord Stream 2 will run through the Baltic Sea and supply gas to Germany and the EU.

Its construction is being funded by Russian state-owned giant Gazprom and a group of major European energy firms who say the project will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by providing cleaner fuel to Europe.

But Washington has criticised the project for making a mockery of Western sanctions imposed after Mr Putin’s annexation of Crimea.

Fate Of Key Gas Pipeline In The Balance As Putin, Merkel Begin Meeting

“Russian influence will flow through that pipeline right into Europe, and that is what we are going to prevent,” an unnamed U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal just as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chancellor Angela Merkel meet outside of Berlin on Saturday centered on the two countries moving forward with the controversial Russian-German Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, but also involving issues from the Iran nuclear deal to ending the war in Syria.

Intense pressure from Washington is overshadowing the project, construction of which is already in advanced stages, as the WSJ cites current and former US officials who say sanctions are under discussion and could be mobilized in a mere matter of weeks.

These potential sanctions, ostensibly being discussed in response to US intelligence claims of Russian interference in the 2016 election, could target companies and financial firms involved in the massive pipeline's construction.

Is a GERMAN-RUSSIAN ALLIANCE on the Horizon?

The US is anxious over the upcoming meeting between Putin and Merkel to be held on September 18 in Berlin. The Americans have always feared a unification of Russian resources and German technology

In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper, the leader of the German Left party and Bundestag deputy Sarah Wagenknecht explained this: “The US is pursuing its own interests, and with the arrival of Trump, they have resorted to aggressive methods. Their interests are contrary to European interests on the most important issues – and not only economic ones. With its wars for resources, the United States has destabilized the Middle East and is continuing to do so in Iran. At the same time, Europe is the first to pay for such. We should not submit to a policy that is contrary to our interests,” she said.

According to Wagenknecht, bad relations with Russia also contradict Europe’s interests.

Tropical ticks threaten to bring Crimean-Congo fever to Germany

Scientists at the University of Hohenheim and the Institute for Microbiology (IMB) of the German Federal Armed Forces in Munich say they have found seven different specimens of tropical ticks, known as Hyalomma, in the northern region of Lower Saxony. Previously, only two tropical ticks are known to have been found in Germany, one in 2015 and another in 2017.

"Five of the seven ticks we can determine beyond doubt, four are the species Hyalomma marginatum and one of the kind Hyalomma rufipes," said Dr Lidia Chitimia-Dobler, tick expert at the IMB. "We did not expect ticks here in Germany at this time.”

Rising temperatures are being blamed for the arrival of Hyalomma ticks in the central European state, with migratory birds believed to be the carriers of the creatures.

Germany’s annual ‘anti-racist’ soccer tournament had to be abandoned this year after violence broke out during the final, with players from the two refugee teams starting a massive brawl on the pitch.

Fighting between the two teams of immigrants, one of which local media reports was overwhelmingly Arab and the other predominantly African, resulted in the United Colours Antifa Street Soccer Cup in Zwickau having to be called off.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing violence erupt suddenly during the match after an argument between players from the ‘Red Tree’ team — the organisers behind which say they “fight Nazis” while seeking to make Zwickau “cosmopolitan, tolerant and courageous” — and from “Antifa soccer club” Marienthal United 08’s refugee squad.

Commenting on the evacuation of about 800 White Helmets members from Syria to Jordan in an interview with Sputnik, Gian Micalessin, a columnist of the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, slammed Germany and Britain's readiness to resettle these activists.

ISRAEL'S AMBASSADOR CONVINCES BERLIN'S JEWISH MUSEUM TO CANCEL BDS SPEAKER

eremy Issacharoff, Israel’s ambassador to Germany, complained to the head of the Jewish Museum in Berlin about a hardcore anti-Israel speaker, prompting the museum’s director to pull the plug on the academic’s July talk.

The slated talk was to be delivered by the US-based academic Sa’ed Atshan, a Swarthmore College professor of Peace and Conflict Studies in Pennsylvania, who said in 2014: “We all know Israel is an apartheid state and should be boycotted.”

Ambassador Issacharoff told the Munich-based Süddeutsche Zeitung that he welcomed the decision of the museum to cancel Atshan’s talk. “Atshan is very closely connected with BDS [Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions]” and “he is not a person who wishes to build bridges of understanding with Israel.”

Germany’s bloody secret: Politicians & arms producers cozy up, sell weapons to anyone

Despite having one of the toughest gun export laws in the world, Germany enjoys a comfy place among the top weapon exporters. How is that possible? A newly released Redfish documentary has some of the answers.

“The laws are very strict and the practice is very-very leisure and very easy. Everyone was wondering how could it be that Germany has one of the strictest laws and always, depending on the ranking, is number three, in small arms is even number two of the biggest world arms trades and weapon producers? So, where’s the gap?” lawyer Holger Rothbauer told the Germany-based investigative journalism team Redfish.

The majority of Germans support Nord Stream 2, a poll revealed Monday. It also showed that most dismissed Donald Trump’s negative comments on the pipeline as a tactic to promote US liquefied gas in Europe.

Two thirds of respondents support the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline because it would help provide Germany with a more reliable supply of natural gas, according to the the Forsa poll, which surveyed 1,004 Germans. Nord Stream 2 is a project to expand the existing Nord Stream main gas pipeline linking Russia and Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

Canadian Woman Visits Germany, Questions Holocaust, Gets Tossed in the Slammer

A woman who denied the Holocaust in at least one video posted on YouTube is on trial at a criminal courthouse in Munich.

Monika Schaefer, 59, and her 63-year-old German-Canadian brother, Alfred Schaefer, who lives near Munich, are being tried together for Volksverhetzung, which officially translates in English from the German Criminal Code as “incitement to hatred,” said court spokesperson Florian Gliwitzky in an email to CBC News on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here is the kicker. The woman made the YouTube video in CANADA, not Germany. Germany has arrested her for something that is not a crime in Canada and did not occur in German jurisdiction.

UPDATE: Monika and her brother have reportedly been released on bail.

Germany Encourages India To Keep Buying Oil From Iran

Germany’s minister of state for foreign affairs has encouraged India to continue buying Iranian oil, despite pressure from the United States, which Niels Annen called “irritating, to put it mildly.”

“I am not a salesman for Iran but I have an impression that India is willing to continue buying oil from Iran and this will be a very important statement,” Annen told Indian media, as quoted by Sputnik, also noting that whatever New Delhi decided, it would be a sovereign decision.

India is Iran’s top oil client, and it is also one of the countries that are most heavily dependent on oil imports. This means that the consequences of U.S. sanctions on Tehran will spread to India, which already has a problem with too high international oil prices.

Canada should help Holocaust denier on trial in Germany: civil liberties group

A civil liberties group is urging the Canadian government to end the "unjust and immoral" imprisonment of Monika Schaefer, a German-Canadian woman on trial in Germany for publishing videos denying the Holocaust. The Ontario Civil Liberties Association says it's concerned about Canada's apparent unwillingness to come to the aid of Schaefer, who it describes as a Canadian "political prisoner" who was charged with a German criminal law that does not exist in Canada and is contrary to international law ... Schaefer has been in custody since her arrest and her trial is set to continue until August 17, the office says, adding the maximum penalty for each count is three years' imprisonment.

An Interview With General Otto Ernst Remer

The initial successes of our forces against the Soviets were due to the fact that the Russians were not stationed in defense positions, but were instead positioned right at the front for attack, which made it possible for us to quickly encircle large Soviet forces. Thus, in the first weeks of the war, we were able to capture more than three million prisoners of war as well as enormous quantities of war equipment, all of which was on the frontier, positioned for attack. That's the truth of the matter, which can be proven.

EUROPE CAN NO LONGER RELY ON US TO IMPOSE WORLD ORDER, WARNS ANGELA MERKEL

Speaking at a news conference in Berlin, Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel warned that Europe can no longer rely on the United States to impose order worldwide, and that European nations need to be ready to take matters into their own hands.

Angela Merkel did not elaborate on exactly what this “order” meant, but it comes in the context of recent polls showing German voters resistant to her desire to increase military spending. This suggests Merkel is trying to sell increased armament as a way to intervene regionally.

Plurality of Germans want U.S. troops out of their country: Poll

As President Trump spars with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the world stage this week, a new survey shows that a plurality of Germans want U.S. troops out of their country. A recent YouGov poll found that 42 percent of Germans want America to withdraw the roughly 35,000 troops currently stationed there. About 37 percent of Germans want the U.S. forces to stay, and another 21 percent were undecided. The survey was commissioned by the German press agency DPA, and was conducted several days before Mr. Trump arrived in Brussels earlier this week for a high-stakes NATO meeting. The poll also shows that about 75 percent of Germans oppose Mr. Trump's call for each NATO member to increase defense spending to at least two percent of its annual GDP

Germany agrees to $88 million more for Holocaust survivors

The organization that handles claims on behalf of Jews who suffered under the Nazis says Germany has agreed to pay another 75 million euros ($88 million) to fund social welfare services for Holocaust survivors. The New York-based Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany said Tuesday that brings total funding next year to 480 million euros [$561 million] to help survivors as they grow older and more frail ... Germany also agreed to increase pensions paid to 55,000 Holocaust survivors in Central and Eastern Europe, and expand eligibility for child survivors. The Claims Conference carries out continuous negotiations to make more people eligible for compensation. Since 1952, Germany has paid more than $70 billion.

Okay, well, Trump did it again. Antagonizing allies. Poll Shows Germans Want US Troops to Withdraw From Germany

A new poll for the DPA news agency is showing German voters are growing resistant to the current level of spending on the military in their country, as well as the number of US troops that Germany is playing host to.

The poll shows that, even as officials fret President Trump threatening to pull US troops out of Germany, voters would welcome the US departure, with only a hair over a third of the Germans wanting US soldiers to stay. 35,000 US troops are currently in Germany.

Taken along party lines, Germans on both the left and the right were the heaviest supporters of the US withdrawal, with Die Linke voters overwhelmingly backing the idea. The ruling Christian Democrats are the least strongly in favor of the pullout.

Germans are not just sick of foreign troops, either. The poll showed strong resistance to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s call to spend 2% of Germany’s GDP on the military. Only 15% of Germans support that idea.

US & Israel want to stop Iran from withdrawing its cash from Germany

Iran wants to withdraw €300 million ($350 million) from bank accounts in Germany before US sanctions kick in, German newspaper Bild reports. The United States and Israel are reportedly pressuring Berlin to intervene and stop it.

Iranian officials told the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) the money is needed “to pass on to Iranian citizens who require cash while travelling abroad, given their inability to access recognised credit cards,” Bild reports.

BaFin has been reviewing the request, the media says. Senior officials in the Chancellery, Foreign Ministry and Finance Ministry have been made aware of the situation.

Tehran has accounts at the Europaeisch-Iranische Handelsbank AG (eihbank). The lender was subject to sanctions from 2010-2016, for allegedly financing the Iranian nuclear program.

US and Israeli intelligence agencies have said the money could be used by Iran to fund armed groups in the Middle East, according to the media.

Merkel fires back at Trump: Germany makes independent decisions

Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday said Germany makes "independent decisions", firing back at US President Donald Trump after he accused Berlin of being a "captive" of Russia.
The two-day meet in Brussels was already shaping up to be the alliance's most difficult in years, with Europe and the US engaged in a bitter trade spat and Trump demanding that NATO allies "reimburse" Washington for the cost of defending the continent.

European alliance members were braced for criticism from Trump on defence spending, but his furious tirade at what should have been an amicable breakfast meeting appeared to take even NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg by surprise.

"Germany is a captive of Russia because it is getting so much of its energy from Russia," Trump said, taking particular aim at the proposed Nord Stream II pipeline.

In an interview with German daily Bild quoted by Reuters, Richard Grenell expressed Washington’s grave concern with regard to Tehran's bid to transfer the money to Iran, saying, "We encourage the highest levels of the German government to intervene and stop the plan."
