McInnes banned from YouTube

‘Proud Boys’ founder Gavin McInnes banned from YouTube days after being booted from conservative TV network

YouTube has banned the founder of the Proud Boys, a far right wing self-described "chauvinist" organization labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

"McInnes had amassed more than 220,000 subscribers on YouTube before the ban, but now both his YouTube profile and channel on YouTube show up as deleted," The Daily Beast reports.

The YouTube ban comes just two days after McInnes was booted from his online conservative TV network gig at CRTV. The company merged with Glenn Beck's The Blaze, and McInnes found himself de-platformed one week later.

Blaze Media no longer has a relationship with Gavin McInnes, and per company policy, cannot comment on personnel matters.

Inevitable threat? Strasbourg gunman was on terror watch list, had grenades at home

The gunman who shot multiple victims in Strasbourg had previously been convicted and was known to French intelligence as a possible ‘security risk,’ yet managed to slip through the cracks despite tightened security across France.

“The author of these acts, listed as a security threat, had been sought by police,” the regional prefecture said in a statement, identifying the perpetrator as being on its notorious ‘Fiche S’. Yet he has reportedly managed to escape arrest earlier in the day, before carrying out the attack near the Christmas market at around 8 pm on Tuesday evening.

Guardians of the truth? Some of TIME’s ‘Person(s) of the Year’ choices are perplexing

TIME magazine has chosen a group of journalists it refers to as ‘The Guardians’ as its 2018 most influential ‘Person of the Year’ – but some of the journalists the magazine included for honors have raised a few eyebrows.

The decision to pick journalists for the annual title was perhaps not so surprising in the era of Donald Trump, who is constantly at odds with the media at large, labeling any report he isn’t fond of as “fake news” – but there is a niggling sense that TIME’s decision to put the spotlight on the media as the Guardians of truth is not entirely sincere.

Nikki Haley’s swansong at the UN was an embarrassment

The 6 December was the first anniversary of US President Donald Trump’s announcement that he recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and that he would move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city. The announcement was cheered by Israel and its supporters for whom international laws and conventions are at best meaningless and at worst an irritant. Trump suggested that this move would help bring peace to the Holy Land. How wrong he was. Anyone but a diehard Zionist would have told him that he was deluded to think this, but nobody in his administration would have done so, because those tasked with developing a peace deal fall into this category.

Man arrested after leaving Kohl’s job interview — for stealing Christmas gifts on his way out

A Florida man who had just interviewed at a local Kohl's was arrested for reportedly stealing two pairs of shoes on his way out of the store.

Come on, really?
Yes, really.

Authorities arrested Dominick Breedlove, 24, after he reportedly stole two pairs of women's shoes from the store at which he'd just interviewed for a position.
Needless to say, Breedlove didn't get the job.

Breedlove is facing charges for retail theft, according to WFTS-TV. He reportedly didn't realize that he was being monitored on his way out of the store, as he allegedly sought out shoes without any security tags.

He reportedly found what he was looking for, but exited the building before carrying out his master plan. Breedlove reportedly went to his car and grabbed an empty Kohl's shopping bag and re-entered the store.

WaPo creates new 'Bottomless Pinocchio' rating inspired by President Trump's 'challenge'

The Washington Post has created a new dishonesty rating which it claims was inspired by President Donald Trump.

It's called "the Bottomless Pinocchio."

The Post's fact-checking team, led by Glenn Kessler, uses the Pinocchio test to rate the veracity of politicians' statements. Previously, the test was based on a scale of one to four, with one Pinocchio meaning there's "some shading of the facts" and four meaning it's a "whopper." Truthful comments are awarded the "Geppetto Checkmark."

"Trump's willingness to constantly repeat false claims has posed a unique challenge to fact-checkers," Kessler wrote in a Monday column. "Most politicians quickly drop a Four-Pinocchio claim, either out of a duty to be accurate or concern that spreading false information could be politically damaging."
"Not Trump," he added.

Same doctors that push SSRI drugs linked to nearly all mass shootings claim all guns should be banned because they cause “violence”

Conventional chemical medicine purveyors are pushing hard for gun control in America, and it’s not a push for safety, despite what they claim. It’s official: “Gunquacks” are now calling for the ban of all guns in America for our own “safety,” while prescribing the very drugs that are linked to nearly every mass shooting over the past twenty years. It’s the ultimate hypocrisy, but emotions run high after every shooting, thanks to the mass media frenzy that’s backed by gun-grabbing Democrats who want a totalitarian, communist-style, nanny police-state-America as soon as possible.

School tweaks production of ‘The Sound of Music’ because some people were offended by Nazi props

LaGuardia High School's most recent production of "The Sound of Music" was missing some notable and pertinent props: specifically, Nazi iconography.

"The Sound of Music" follows Austria's Von Trapp family and takes place during the Third Reich. The family is depicted in the production fleeing the Nazi regime.

Wait, what?
An article in the New York Daily News reports that the Nazi imagery sparked a furor among students and parents, so the school opted to tweak the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical to cut some Nazi-related items out.

LaGuardia High School, a public school in New York City, is a school for music, arts, and performing arts.

The night before opening night, principal Lisa Mars demanded that props with Nazi iconography be removed from costumes and set design.

A Crisis in the Making: Know Your Rights or You Will Lose Them

We are approaching critical mass, the point at which all hell breaks loose.

The government is pushing us ever closer to a constitutional crisis.

What makes the outlook so much bleaker is the utter ignorance of the American people—and those who represent them—about their freedoms, history, and how the government is supposed to operate.

As Morris Berman points out in his book Dark Ages America, “70 percent of American adults cannot name their senators or congressmen; more than half don't know the actual number of senators, and nearly a quarter cannot name a single right guaranteed by the First Amendment. Sixty-three percent cannot name the three branches of government. Other studies reveal that uninformed or undecided voters often vote for the candidate whose name and packaging (e.g., logo) are the most powerful; color is apparently a major factor in their decision.”

Trump's International Anti-Iran Coalition Looks Like it's Falling Apart

The president upended diplomatic relations based on support from the leaders from Saudi Arabia and Israel. Now our position is rather precarious.

Trump set out to pick a fight with Iran from the early days of his administration. But a set of astonishing developments has pulled the rug out from under his feet, and the next three months will determine whether Trump will opt to escalate his provocations or find a face-saving exit from his bravado.

Only a few months ago, Trump was oozing with confidence, having pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal, worked with the Saudis to squeeze oil exports and announced the reimposition of sanctions to the pleasure of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

As a result, the Iranian currency, the rial, was tanking and a noticeable sense of nervousness permeated Iran. The country had weathered sanctions before, but something felt different this time around.

Trump certainly thought there was: "I know they're having a lot of problems and their economy is collapsing,” he told reporters on July 12. “[A]t a certain point, they're going to call me and they're going to say, 'Let's make a deal'.”

Fast forward five months, though, and all three pillars of Trump’s policy of strangulating Iran are at risk.

Portland's Dark Past: Shanghai Tunnels of Portland

Beneath the streets of Portland, Oregon, there is a series of hidden tunnels. These 150-plus year old tunnels connected the basements and cellars of several of the city’s oldest establishments, primarily hotels, saloons, and taverns. Although some claimed the tunnels were designed to transport goods and products from cargo ships in the port into the city proper, and to transfer goods more easily between businesses, the tunnel system had a much more sinister use. In the mid-1800s through the early 1900s, the city of Portland, Oregon, earned a reputation for being the Shanghai Capital of the World…thanks, in part, to the Shanghai Tunnels.
