How Rachel Maddow Turned Into Infowars

Though she doesn’t often bring it up these days, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow remembers how the media abetted the Bush administration’s lies justifying the 2003 Iraq invasion. That was when elite (in many cases handpicked) journalists spent months serving as stenographers for the push to war, parroting every carefully crafted leak without question. They dismissed skeptics as disloyal and spiked stories that would have raised questions about the narrative. When they got caught, they declared “never again.”

Yet with Rachel Maddow as their poster child (along with David Corn, Luke Harding, Chris Hayes, the entire staff at CNN, and hundreds more), journalists over the last two years repeated every mistake their predecessors had made in 2003.

Libyan strongman Haftar orders troops to move on Tripoli

Eastern Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar has ordered his troops to move on the capital Tripoli, seat of the UN-backed government of Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj.
In an audio address broadcast to his troops and published on Facebook, Haftar ordered all army units to “advance to Tripoli,” and free the capital from “militias and terrorists.” The Thursday address came hours after Haftar’s forces captured the town of Gharyan, 100km south of the capital.

Haftar also vowed to protect foreigners, civilians and those surrendering to his troops, promising to ensure their “safety and security.”

Drone-filmed footage shows scores of Haftar's Libyan National Army (NLA) vehicles en route to the capital, most of them machine-gun-armed 'technicals.'

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like the US-ordered assassination of Gaddafi, has caused this country to spin completely out of control, much to the US government's embarrassment.

So what are they going to do with Khalifa Haftar, order an "Assassination 2.0" on the guy?!?

Liberal Dark Money Group to Receive Private Briefing From House Dem Jerrold Nadler

Democracy Alliance holds private gathering at luxury Austin hotel, plots nearly $300 million in new political spending.

AUSTIN—The largest donors on the left will be given a private briefing on investigations into President Donald Trump by House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.) during a secretive Texas gathering this week, according to documents obtained exclusively by the Washington Free Beacon.

The Democracy Alliance, a group of millionaire and billionaire funders of the liberal movement, is holding its Spring Partner Retreat and Strategy Conference at the Four Seasons hotel in Austin, where security has been patrolling the meeting areas since Wednesday. As always at the group's secretive meetings, all programming is off the record and closed to members of the media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is next, Judiciary Chair Nadler, is for the Dementocrats deciding to do something constructive for the people who elected you into office.

You have the job sir, that's what your constituents hired you to do; now, let's see a little delivery for those you represent, rather than this horrific plunge into toxic, "Gotcha!" politics!!

AUSSIE SENATE RUSHES THRU BILL THAT WOULD FINE SOCIAL MEDIA COMPANIES FOR NOT TAKING DOWN 'ABHORRENT' CONTENT FAST ENOUGH

Following the Christchurch mosque shooting, the New Zealand government swiftly declared footage and photos of the shooting illegal and started rounding up citizens who violated the censorship body's new declaration. The government of its closest neighbor has responded to the tragedy in a similar fashion, outlawing the sharing of "abhorrent violent material."

Tragedies make for bad laws. And Australia -- while relatively short on tragedy -- has been crafting some supremely bad laws lately. The national security flag was waved around a bit to justify encryption-breaking mandates. Now, the government has rushed through a bill targeting content like the Christchurch shooter's livestream of his violent act.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I'm sorry; but how will this law define "not taking down quickly enough", in a moment when the horrific images are live-streamed?!?

My deepest sympathies for those who got killed or maimed in this brutal assassination; but there is something about this which just doesn't pass the
smell test for me, and I am not quite sure what.

But here is a companion piece about this legislation:

After Christchurch shooting, Australia doubles-down on being stampeded into catastrophically stupid legislation.

CHINESE CITY OFFERS REWARD FOR RATTING ON CHRISTIANS AND OTHER “ILLEGAL” RELIGIOUS FOLK

As China continues its efforts to eradicate Christianity and other faiths, Communist Party officials in Guangzhou (shown), the capital of China’s Guangdong province, are offering a reward to residents who can provide information about underground churches, secret Christians, and others involved in unsanctioned religious activity.

Guangzhou’s Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs recently announced on its website that it would pay up to 10,000 Chinese yuan (around $1,500) for information leading to the apprehension of unsanctioned religious leaders. That amounts to about two months’ salary for the average resident. Officials are offering smaller rewards for information about churches and other religious meeting places built or used without permission from authorities. Informers can also cash in for ratting on people who incite “religious extremism,” says the website.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It looks like Chinese authorities are creating an absolutely Orwellian nightmare on steroids for its people, with this "ratting out" your neighbors and your friends for thinking non-conformist thoughts, or having any religious beliefs whatsoever.

MAJOR VULNERABILITY POTENTIALLY IMPACTED 150 MILLION SMARTPHONE USERS WORLDWIDE

Researchers have discovered multiple vulnerabilities in a pre-installed app on phones made by one of the world’s biggest smartphone vendors that potentially impacted the privacy and security of more than 150 million Android users worldwide.

According to security researchers at Check Point Research, the vulnerabilities were found in an app pre-installed on smartphones made by Xiaomi, the biggest mobile phone manufacturer in China and India, and the fourth biggest by market share in the world.

The app in question was a self-proclaimed security app dubbed “Guard Provider,” which promised to protect Xiaomi users from malware. But Check Point found that the app’s failure to encrypt virus database updates opened Xiaomi users to man in the middle attacks (MiTM) when users connected to public WiFi hotspots.

What Greece And Venezuela Can Teach Us About Minimum Wage Laws

By Jon Miltimore

States across America are increasing the minimum wage. This is bad policy for numerous reasons, but the movement nonetheless appears to be gaining steam.

Eighteen states began 2019 with new minimum wage laws. Several more passed legislation in 2019, including Maryland, where legislators overrode a veto to pass a $15 minimum wage. McDonald’s, perhaps reading the landscape, recently announced it will no longer lobby against mandated increases in workers’ pay.

The reasons for this aren’t hard to divine. Minimum wage increases are lousy policy—violating the rights of employers and workers while denying the most vulnerable in society the dignity of work—but they are great politics...

US DENIES VISA TO ICC CHIEF PROSECUTOR, UNHAPPY WITH HER PROBING AMERICAN WAR CRIMES IN AFGHANISTAN

Washington has annulled the entry visa of Fatou Bensouda, chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, after the State Department vowed to shield Americans from “unjust prosecutions” of possible war crimes in Afghanistan.

“We can confirm that the US authorities have revoked the prosecutor’s visa for entry into the US,” Bensouda’s office told Reuters in an email. However, the move should not restrict her travels to the UN headquarters in New York City.

Over the last two years, the Gambian lawyer has been probing US-led war crimes in Afghanistan but has not yet opened a formal investigation into alleged atrocities conducted over the last 18 years. For now, the preliminary inquiry remains in Pre-Trial Chamber, even though Bensouda found a “reasonable basis to believe that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been committed in connection with the armed conflict in Afghanistan.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a link to this lady's CV: Fatou Bensouda, Judge at the International Criminal Court

So, IF everything we have been doing in Afghanistan was moral, stable, and the us military are not killing people indiscriminately, what the hell is Pompeo afraid of?!?

The reality on the ground here, must be pretty horrific, for him to deny this lady a visa.

When I was a kid growing up, I read about how the USA was the greatest country in the world; but when I got into Junior College, I had to revise what I thought about this country; I got ... awakened, at that point.

Many of my young friends wound up in Vietnam, as "cannon fodder" for this insane and immoral war, which allowed a lot of military equipment get "eaten up", so the military industrial complex could sell our military more stuff.

Many of those friends didn't make it back, or emotionally, didn't make it all the way back; one, in fact, committed suicide when he got back to the States.

Pompeo's refusal to grant this lady a visa, is pretty condemning evidence, that much of what she thought had happened in Afghanistan, but didn't quite have the evidence for, is damningly true.

And what else is damningly true, is that the United States of America, has devolved into "the land of the cowed... and the home of the surveilled."

The US has become "War Crimes R Us", as indicated by the US moves against Afghanistan; Iraq; Libya; Somalia, Yemen, and more recently, Venezuela.

All those who are now citizens of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America, are citizens of a country which commits war crimes with impunity.

I don't know how that makes you feel, when this realization hits; but frankly, from my perspective, it really ... bites.

As a kid, I never believed that the US could create the amount of mayhem and destruction internationally that it has; now, I know better.

So, what do we do?!?

Violence is never the answer, and those in our military and beyond, will most probably obey their orders, when told to "exterminate American citizens with extreme prejudice."

We need to have a peaceful, honest conversation with each other, and those who allegedly represent us in Congress.

We tell them, logically, and rationally, how these wars are killing our economy, and preventing this country from improving its infrastructure, which is crumbling as I type this.

And we tell them, gently, that we will be looking, very analytically, at their voting records, when it comes to war-related issues, and if they are incapable of pulling away from the warmongers, the next time they are up for re-election, they will not win it.

At the end of the day, these are the only choices we have left right now; but we have to exercise them collectively, or the US government will just brush us off.

TSA PLANS TO PUT NEW LYING SIGNS IN AIRPORTS

According to a press release issued today by the Transportation Security Administration, the TSA plans to start posting signs as shown above in airports throughout the USA, claiming that “ID Requirements Are Changing” and that “Beginning Beginning October 1, 2020, you will need a REAL ID compliant license or another acceptable form of ID, such
as a valid passport or U.S. military ID, to fly within the U.S.”

According to today’s TSA press release:

REAL ID-compliant licenses or other acceptable forms of ID, such as a valid passport, federal government PIV card or U.S. military ID, will be mandatory for air travel beginning on October 1, 2020. Critically important, on October 1, 2020, individuals who are unable to verify their identity will not be permitted to enter the TSA checkpoint and will not be allowed to fly.

These signs and this and similar press releases are lies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As some of you may know, my late Dad, Spencer, was an aircraft instrument mechanic, with whom his employer always had what I would describe as a "love/hate relationship", because dad NEVER signed off on the air-worthiness of an instrument before it went back on a plane, unless the instrument calibrated out perfectly.

That meant that the place's departure would be delayed, which infuriated his employer, but Spencer wanted to make sure that every instrument on which he signed off, was perfect.

When I was a kid, I used to love to fly, because I believed that every aircraft instrument mechanic took his job as seriously as did my Dad.

But since the TSA got its talons around air travel, I absolutely dread it.

Terrorist, me?!? NO ONE in their right mind would ever have that opinion of me, if they got to know me.

As a Christian pacifist activist I want to see the ending of wars as a means of settling international disputes, not more of them, thank you very much.

But this has been a paradigm shift in American culture, that when one travels, one is presumed "guilty until proven innocent", harking back to Code Napoleon.

As a thinking Christian, and someone who cares about the future trajectory of both US foreign and domestic policies, I abhor this shift in American values.

SECRET DOCUMENT REVEALS PLANS FOR CIVIL WAR IN LEBANON, ISRAELI FALSE FLAGS, AND INVASION

THE VALIDITY OF THIS DOCUMENT SHOULD BE QUESTIONED. THAT SAID, THE PLAN IS CONSISTENT WITH THE U.S. SOP FOR REGIME CHANGE.

Beirut (GPA) – During his visit with US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, Lebanese President Michael Aoun reportedly received a US-Israeli document detailing plans for creating a civil war in Lebanon with covert false flag operations and possible Israeli invasion.
n.
Although the source of the document is Israeli and created in partnership with Washington, no one knows who presented it to Aoun. The Lebanese TV station, Al-Jadeed, initially reported the document on Lebanese TV and a video on its website. Geopolitics Alert translated the report for this article.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this is true, it appears to come right out the CIA playbook, and the pattern is painfully clear; demonize the existing government; create regime change; replace that regime with one which is US-centric; and make sure that the assets which the US wants to expropriate are only sold by US-centric companies, and that they are only allowed to be paid for in the US dollar.

Wash; rinse; repeat.

IF true, color me completely unsurprised by this development.

ASSANGE 'WILL BE' ARRESTED IN 'HOURS TO DAYS,' WIKILEAKS SAYS

WikiLeaks has quoted a “high-level” Ecuadorian government source as saying that Julian Assange could be imminently expelled from Ecuador’s London embassy and that Quito has an agreement with the UK to arrest him.

WikiLeaks warned Thursday that its founder “will be expelled within ‘hours to days'” from Ecuador’s London embassy and that Ecuador has an agreement with Britain to have him arrested.

President Lenin Moreno will use the pretext of a scandal engulfing his presidency to oust Assange, a “high level source” in the Ecuador government told WikiLeaks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When the Brits get Assange, I am quite sure they will hand him over to American authorities, who want to make, probably, a very messy example of what happens to people who tell the truth, but are "an embarrassment" to the Power Structure here in the US.

The CIA Takeover of America in the 1960s is the Story of Our Times

***
The web of deceit surrounding the now officially debunked Democratic led Russia-gate propaganda operation that has strengthened Trump to double-down on his anti-Russia operations (a Democratic goal) is an example of the perfidious and sophisticated mutuality of this game of mass mind-control.

The killing of the Kennedys and today’s new Cold War and war against terror are two ends of a linked intelligence operation.

Moreover, more than any other assassination of the 1960s, it is the killing of Bobby Kennedy that has remained shrouded in the most ignorance.

It is one of the greatest propaganda success stories of American history.

Quack “skeptic” Stephen Barrett exposed as agent provocateur working to discredit natural medicine on Wikipedia

Over the past year, Richard Gale and his team of sleuths from the Progressive Radio Network (PRN) put many hours’ worth of legwork into digging up every detail they could find about Barrett and his fellow anti-truth cronies, as well as their ongoing collusion with Wikipedia. They then compiled what they uncovered into 24 separate investigative stories, unveiling a treasure trove of truth about Big Tech and Big Pharma’s relentless war against natural medicine.

In its piece on Barrett and Wikipedia specifically, PRN revealed that the “skeptics” have basically hijacked editorial control over all of the Wikipedia entries associated with things like chiropractic, acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), homeopathy, naturopathy, and many other forms of natural medicine, and altered them with descriptions basically pegging them as unsubstantiated “quackery.”

Russia warns of US 'excuse for new conflict' with Iran

Moscow has warned Washington over claims that Iran was behind the deaths of more than 600 US troops in Iraq, saying the allegation is aimed at escalating tensions with Tehran.

"We were surprised to read the statement by US State Department Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook, in which he claims that Iran is involved in the death of 600 US troops in Iraq," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Thursday.

Zakharova stressed that the US needs to be held responsible for its provocative statements amid Washington's extreme "anti-Iranian sentiment."

"There is an impression that the US is thinking up another excuse to explain the escalation of relations with Iran if they deem it appropriate," she said.

US-Saudi arms deals 'dramatically understated'

An American think tank says it has found new data showing US arms deals with Saudi Arabia and the UAE are "dramatically understated" and billions more than previously reported.

The data collected by arms trade watchdog Security Assistance Monitor (SAM) shows the US has struck at least $68.2 billion worth of deals with the two countries since they started their war in Yemen.

White House Aide: US to Pump Money Into Venezuela After Regime Change

In a special briefing for the Christian Science Monitor, President Trump’s top economic adviser Larry Kudlow revealed that the administration is already working with banks internationally in plans to greatly increase US investment in Venezuela if there is a regime change.

President Trump has demanded immediate regime change, with Venezuela’s president to be replaced by their opposition leader, who is seen as more pro-US. Kudlow says there is a “Day Two” plan to see huge influxes of cash if and when that happens.

This is in keeping with the Trump Administration’s belief that it can effectively shut down the economy of a disobedient nation, and then miraculously turn things around at a moment’s notice once they comply.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, please, but WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING?!?

Juan Guaido cannot seem to muster any significant popular support; in fact, he has been physically attacked by Maduro supporters; the military is still loyal to Maduro, and I cannot imagine how this guy is going to pull off a "regime change" in Venezuela, particularly now with the presence of both Russian and Chinese troops.

House Votes to End US Military Involvement in Yemen War

After voting down a Republican motion to recommit, the House of Representatives voted on Thursday to pass S.J. Res 7, the Senate version of the War Powers Act challenge to US involvement in the war in Yemen. The vote was 247-175-1.

This Senate passed this resolution in March, and sends the resolution to President Trump, who has threatened to veto it. So far it appears unlikely that Congress will be able to override such a veto.

Both House votes on Yemen ran heavily along party lines. The War Powers Act requires any US war to be approved by Congress, and the resolution notes that Congress never authorized any such war in Yemen.

The administration has argued that the four years of war in Yemen technically don’t count under the War Powers Act, sometimes overtly lying about the extent of US involvement in Yemen, and other times arguing that support fo the Saudi-led war is obligated because of arms sales to them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sorry, President Trump, but, to paraphrase Gertrude Stein: "a war is a war is a war", and Congress was left with no choice, until this legislation was passed.

President Trump will, predictably, veto this; after all, he can't let one of his BFFs in the Middle East, The Butcher of Yemen, down, both in terms of providing US military assistance and "guidance" to Saudi mercs and military, and the weapons they are gobbling up, to use to create a genocide in Yemen.

I was wrong about President Trump, in a number of significant ways, as were others who nominally supported his candidacy over that of Hillary Clinton's; but perhaps, one of the most depressing was discovering that his presidency was going to "gift" the world with his presence as "America's Merchant of Death in Chief."

I think history will judge him very harshly on that issue.

After Losing Big On Collusion, Democrats Are Now 'Inventing A Coverup': WSJ

Remember when Hillary Clinton said that it would be a 'direct threat to democracy' if Donald Trump refused to say he'd respect the results of the 2016 election?

Now picture Democrats doing exactly that for over two years, then losing big again when Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team of "13 angry Democrats" found no collusion with Russia - and then balling their fists up for extra innings in a post-Mueller 'witch hunt' led by Democratic Congressmen Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and Adam Schiff (D-CA).

China's Han Superstate: The New Third Reich

Authored by Gordon Chang via The Gatestone Institute,

More than a million people, for no reason other than their ethnicity or religion, are held in concentration camps in what Beijing calls the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and what traditional inhabitants of the area, the Uighurs, say is East Turkestan. In addition to Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs are also held in these facilities.

Families in this troubled area, shown on maps as the northwestern portion of the People's Republic of China, are being torn apart. The children of imprisoned Uighur and Kazakh parents are "confined" to "schools" that are separated from the outside by barbed wire and heavy police patrols. They are denied instruction in their own language, forced to learn Mandarin Chinese. The controls are part of a so-called "Hanification" policy, a program of forced assimilation. "Han" is the name of China's dominant ethnic group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that Gordon Chang "jumped the shark" in his characterization of these re-education camps as "China's 3rd Reich"

China is, and will most probably remain, at least for the foreseeable future, a dictatorship.

But the larger question is, what should the US government do about it, and is it the US government's place to do this, considering that certain of our alphabet soup Federal agencies are still torturing, or outsourcing torture on prisoners of war?!?

IT’S STILL OPEN: WILL THE GUANTÁNAMO BAY PRISON BECOME A 2020 ISSUE?

The article goes on to state: "In the 17 long years since the naval base was used to detain prisoners merely suspected of having something to do with anti-American terrorism, 780 men have passed through its walls. Today, 40 men remain. Some of those men — like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, or KSM, the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks — first went through a secret CIA-operated outpost within the military base, known as a black site.

Rosenberg revealed last month that CIA Director Gina Haspel may have had a stint running a CIA outpost at GTMO, which was operated from 2003 to 2004. Rosenberg got the scoop from a recently declassified transcript of a secret court hearing last year, in which KSM’s defense lawyer argued that Haspel’s past involvement at the prison makes a fair trial impossible."

I therefore, would politely suggest, that President Trump not allow himself to be overly troubled by this; the most important situation with China at this point, is creating a "win/win" trade program, with which the US and China can feel good.

An Open Letter To The UK Prime Minister (From One Of The Seventeen Million)

The main argument put forward by the Treasury etc against Brexit has been the potential economic damage which may or may not be accurate.

What is fact however is that, according to the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank – the most important central bank in the world – U.K. total factor productivity growth has fallen from 3.84% in 1973 – (2.88% per annum in the 10 years ending 1973) – to 0.14% in 2016, the most recent data, and negative 0.17% per annum in the 10 years ending 2016. Based on the difference between the 10-year average up to 1973 and the subsequent growth, productivity is just 43% of the size it would otherwise have been. Whilst an opportunity cost rather than a real loss of wealth, the damage is all too clear.

The data gets worse. Even stripping out the 2008 and 2009 crisis years, the last 20 years of productivity is the worst since the 20 years ending 1922 which obviously encompassed WW1 and the enormous loss of capital funding the war.

Saudi Nuclear Facility Near Completion According To Satellite Photos

Saudi Arabia has nearly completed its first nuclear reactor according to satellite photos of the facility published by GoogleEarth, which reveal a "columnar vessel that will contain atomic fuel," according to Bloomberg.

Located in the southwest corner of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh, the new facility has raised concerns in the West - as the Saudis have yet to sign up to the international framework of rules adhered to by other nuclear powers in order to prevent civilian atomic programs aren't used to develop weapons. Nuclear fuel providers, meanwhile, cannot legally supply the new reactor until modern surveillance arrangements have been reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.

Mr. President, forgive me, but of all the ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid things you could do in your Presidency to date, this one is most probably one of the worst, and most vile things that you could have possibly promised Saudi Arabia and it's leadership.

President Trump, I assure you that no matter the promises the Butcher of Yemen has made to you, your BFF Saudi Prince Mohammed Ben Salman, about signing on to norms and protocols, and signing the NNPT (which, BTW, Iran has done, but, of course, not Israel), you, in this action, are signing the death warrants of potentially thousands of people in the Middle East and beyond.

Please do not think that once they have the technology, that Saudi scientists are NOT going to be creating nuclear weapons, rather than nuclear energy with which to run their country.

I stand gobsmacked and amazed at your total blindness in not seeing this, sir; this is an horrific idea, writ large.

Is Soros Seeking To Ruin Trump's Economic Rise Through Green New Deal?

Authored by Ekaterina Blinova via SputnikNews.com

Hungarian-born American billionaire George Soros and other globalist investors are highly interested in financial crises, and are therefore keen to support the Green New Deal advocated by economically illiterate politicians including Maxine Waters and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Wall Street analyst Charles Ortel told Sputnik.

On 2 April, President Donald Trump harshly criticised the Green New Deal, which was rejected by the Republican-led US Senate on 26 March, by saying that it was "done by a young bartender" in a reference to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Speaking to Sputnik, Charles Ortel, a Wall Street analyst, investor, and investigative journalist, explained why the initiative has triggered a heated debate and what risks it is fraught with.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I find myself engaged with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez' energy, but abhor her sloppy math and science, and an almost pathological inability to reason. (she must be a Common Core graduate, but..I digress!)

But sloppy math and science, coupled with that pathological inability to reason, are what investors like Soros love, because they understand just what that sloppy math, science, and an inability to reason will actually create, which is the polar opposite of a "Green New Deal", and understand how to bet against it financially.

Facebook paying UK newspaper the Telegraph to publish glowing coverage amid scandals – report

Facing an onslaught of negative headlines and critical press coverage, Facebook has begun paying UK paper the Daily Telegraph to run admiring stories about the “positive impact” the social media giant can have on people’s lives.

The partnership has seen the Telegraph run 26 stories defending Facebook over the last month, dismissing “technofears” about the company, while dealing with issues of key importance, including terrorist content, online safety and cyberbullying, Business Insider reported.

TRUMP NEW JOBS CREATION: OVER 10,000

Iraqi Sources: Over 10,000 US Forces Deployed in Al-Anbar

Over 10,000 US forces are stationed in two occupied bases in al-Anbar province in Western Iraq, Iraqi sources reported on Thursday.

The Arabic-language al-Ma'alomeh news website quoted the head of Badr Organization's office in al-Anbar province as saying that the number of US forces deployed in Ein al-Assad and al-Habaniyeh bases has increased to 10,000, adding that they have been supplied with the state-of-the-art weapons and military equipment.

The official said that the two bases also host the US marines who have been transferred recently from Syria to the region, noting that 90% of the US soldiers in Iraq are combat forces and are not considered as military advisors.

CNN’s Zakaria calls on Trump to declare war against Venezuela and Russia

The Duran’s Alex Christoforou and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Mercouris discuss Fareed Zakaria shocking opening statement during his broadcast, where the CNN News commentator openly tries to goad and mock US President Trump into launching an attack on Venezuela, and the Russian presence within the Latin American country, in order to send a message to Putin, that the United States will do as it pleases when it comes to illegal regime change policy.

Zakaria even cited Obama’s Syria “red line” moment, to draw parallels between Syria’s failed regime change operation, and Venezuela’s ongoing, but staling, overthrow of the Maduro elected government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

GERMAN REASON FOR A FREE PALESTINE

Thousands of Palestinians along the border fence to the “Jewish State” have shown the international community what dignity and resistance means. It is frightening how the German press portrays this march and falsifies facts. When one reads the German editorial (D) media, one is already used to a lot of distortions, but what was reported this time to cover the first anniversary of the Great March of Return, exceeded any measure of objective reporting. Many of the articles read such that the inexperienced reader might think that it is not the Zionist occupiers but Hamas who are responsible for the blockade and misery in the Gaza concentration camp.

THE OFFICIAL ADMISSIONS FROM THE ANNE FRANK FOUNDATION, AND THE EVIDENCE OF TWO DISTINCT HANDWRITINGS:

The Basel, Switzerland, Anne Frank Fonds (Anne Frank Fund), which controls the copyright
to the Diary of Anne Frank, has admitted that the book was in fact at least co-authored by
Otto Frank, Anne’s father, after the war.

The admission proves that the book, which is still heavily promoted as a "holocaust memoir",
is in fact largely a postwar fabrication which contained parts of the young Anne’s diary with
extensive additions added by her father. This is obvious from even a cursory look at the
actual diary. See, for example, the image below of two pages from the diary, which shows
both Anne’s real youthful handwriting and her father’s obviously adult handwriting, although
he signs his entries as “Anne Frank.”

UN Nuclear Watchdog Could Be in North Korea Within Weeks of a Deal

While diplomacy seems to be slowing down in recent weeks, there are still high hopes that a peace deal with North Korea is possible, and that this may include denuclearization, even if it isn’t the US version which requires Kim to give the US all the weapons directly.

The UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is all for that idea, and said on Tuesday that they are fully prepared to act as the monitor for any nuclear deal that might get reached.

IAEA Director Amano Yukiya tod the UN Security Council that the agency could have inspectors back in North Korea within a matter of weeks if a deal came into effect that would allow them to go there.

Amano said he believes the IAEA is the only body equipped to carry out the job at all. This may not sit well with the Trump Administration, as the IAEA has repeatedly confirmed Iran is in compliance with that nuclear deal, despite the US withdrawing from the pact and falsely accusing Iran of non-compliance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

North Korea might be open to denuclearizing, but probably NOT with an agreement with the United States; Kim Jung Un understands perfectly that when treaties are made by a high ranking operative of the US, let's say, by President Obama, they can be just as easily be tossed out the window by an incoming President with a different take on that treaty, as President Trump has done with Iran.

And Amanos last statement, is perfectly on the mark, in light of the fact that the IAEA has done its inspections, and found Iran perfectly within compliance of the P5+1 agreement.

Pompeo Denies US Sanctions Are Blocking Iran Flood Relief

Two weeks of heavy rain has led to mass flooding in Iran, and humanitarian aid from abroad has been severely limited. According to Iranian FM Javad Zarif, and some other officials, that aid is being slowed by US sanctions.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claims that is just the Iran regime “blaming outside entities” when he believes that Iran is fully to blame “for this disaster.” In theory, US sanctions aren’t supposed to limit humanitarian aid.

In practice, however, US sanctions have routinely limited humanitarian aid, and even if Pompeo dismisses Zarif as a liar, he’s also going to have to explain how many other nations, including France and Britain, were openly offering assistance before concerns about the sanctions were risen, and then all such offers started to dry up.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This isn't the first time Pompeo has lied to the American public, and the world.

In fact, one has to suspect that lying well, to attempt to protect the military industrial complex's economy; the US national dignity, and US covert ops of the Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika, is high on the list of attributes for the politically prized Secretary of State position in this country.

And please remember this: Pompeo Lied to Congress About Yemen To Protect Arms Sales This article goes on to state the following:

"Originally appeared on The American Conservative.

Mike Pompeo’s certification earlier this month that the Saudi coalition was working to reduce harm to civilians in Yemen was an obvious sham. According to a new report in The Wall Street Journal, Pompeo made the decision to lie for the Saudis and Emiratis because he feared it would hurt arms sales:

Mr. Pompeo overruled concerns from most of the State Department specialists involved in the debate who were worried about the rising civilian death toll in Yemen. Those who objected included specialists in the region and in military affairs. He sided with his legislative affairs team after they argued that suspending support could undercut plans to sell more than 120,000 precision-guided missiles to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, according to a classified State Department memo and people familiar with the debate.

Cutting off refueling to the coalition likely would make it extremely difficult to sell more weapons to the Saudis and Emiratis, but that is not a good reason to ignore evidence and expert advice and then lie to Congress. Opponents of the war have been trying to block arms sales to both countries for years, and this just gives them one more reason to keep trying. The U.S. should not be in the business of arming governments that we know will use them to commit war crimes, and that certainly applies to the Saudis and the UAE as long as the war on Yemen continues. The longer that the war drags on, and the more civilians that the coalition kills using U.S.-made weapons, the more politically toxic arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the UAE will become."

Sorry, Mikey; dismissing Zarif as "a liar", does't cut it; not when you have been caught in plain sight, lying about the Saudi intentions for the missiles sold by American companies to Saudi Arabia, to use in the commission of war crimes in Yemen, in which the US military has aided and abetted.

Trump: Great Strides Made in ‘Ridiculous’ Afghan War

Whenever President Trump is dealing with NATO issues, there is always the question of whether Trump is going to praise NATO as the greatest thing since sliced bread, mock them as a relic of the past, or somehow manage to do both at once.

Meeting NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday, Trump played up the pledges for increased military spending, while pushing for even more. He also cheered the “great strides” made in Afghanistan militarily by NATO, while terming the war ‘ridiculous.’

Trump is well known to be weary of the Afghan War, and hopeful of making a negotiated deal with the Taliban to withdraw from the nation. It’s a good thing this was known beforehand, as he did not elaborate beyond calling the war “unfortunate” and “ridiculous.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, one can not have this both ways; this war cannot have been both critically important, and "ridiculous" simultaneously.

You know as well as I do, that the war against Afghanistan had utterly nothing to do with Usama Bin Laden, and everything to do with controlling the oil pipelines, the rare earth minerals, and the opium poppy trade.

I hope and pray that a good negotiated settlement can happen; there have been far too many American military members who have been killed, or maimed for life here, in pursuit of that control of the oil pipelines, the rare earth minerals, and the opium poppy control.

MADURO FIRES ELECTRICITY MINISTER AFTER DEVASTATING BLACKOUTS

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro announced that he had replaced the country’s electricity minister amid a string of three nationwide blackouts that sparked protests against the lack of basic services including water supply.

Reuters quoted Maduro as saying the new minister is an electrical engineer. This, however, is unlikely to help much with the root causes of the crisis, which some observers have attributed to years of underinvestment in power plants and the grid. Maduro himself blamed the first blackout on the United States, calling it sabotage.

The news about the new appointment follows an announcement from earlier this week that electricity will be rationed for at least a month following the third blackout in a month. The rationing, Maduro said, will help the authorities deal with the consequences of the power outages.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder, just what Guaido is planning for his "uprisings" later this month; in light of the fact that Russian troops have arrived in Venezuela, he most probably will not have the advantage of "American boots on the ground when this starts.

Also, he does NOT have the support of Venezuela's military; anything henceforward planned by his "Advisors" in the West, runs a monstrous risk of going Mammary Glands Vertical.

Aibo's dark side: Why Illinois bans Sony's robot dog

The $2,900 pup is a companion robot, one Sony claims "learns its environment and develops relationships with people." Aibo even enlists a camera in its nose to scan faces and determine who's who so it can react to them differently.

Because of our office pet's face-detecting capabilities, Sony doesn't sell Aibo in Illinois. The state's Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) regulates the collection of biometric data, including face scans.

So Aibo's out in the land of Lincoln, but the story doesn't stop with Sony's quirky robot. Illinois also limits access to facial recognition in home security cameras, a feature that's becoming increasingly prevalent in the consumer security market. Let's take a closer look at BIPA, the growth of biometric tech in consumer products -- and how other states in the US treat your biometric info.

AMERICAN IDIOCRACY: 50 YEARS LATER, WE’RE STILL STRANDED IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE

“We’re developing a new citizenry. One that will be very selective about cereals and automobiles, but won’t be able to think.”—Rod Serling

Have you noticed how much life increasingly feels like an episode of The Twilight Zone?

Only instead of Rod Serling’s imaginary “land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas,” we’re trapped in a topsy-turvy, all-too-real land of corruption, brutality and lies, where freedom, justice and integrity play second fiddle to political ambition, corporate greed, and bureaucratic tyranny.

It’s not merely that life in the American Police State is more brutal, or more unjust, or even more corrupt. It’s getting more idiotic, more perverse, and more outlandish by the day.

Webmaster's Commentary:

FAMILYTREEDNA DEPUTIZES ITSELF, STARTS PITCHING DNA MATCHING SERVICES TO LAW ENFORCEMENT

One DNA-matching company has decided it's going to corner an under-served market: US law enforcement. FamilyTreeDNA -- last seen here opening up its database to the FBI without informing its users first -- is actively pitching its services to law enforcement.

The television spot, to air in San Diego first, asks anyone who has had a direct-to-consumer DNA test from another company, like 23andMe or Ancestry.com, to upload a copy so that law enforcement can spot any connections to DNA found at crime scenes.

The advertisement features Ed Smart, father of Elizabeth Smart, a Salt Lake City teen who was abducted in 2002 but later found alive. “If you are one of the millions of people who have taken a DNA test, your help can provide the missing link,” he says in the spot.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are things I would love to find out about my family, having lost both parents relatively early in life; but I would never use this kind of DNA service, ever.

This company is looking at a tsunami of potential class action lawsuits, and getting sued out of existence, because no consent has been given by their customers, that their DNA would be used in this way.

ECUADOR PRESIDENT THREATENS TO DECIDE ASSANGE’S FATE OVER SCANDAL

Ecuador’s president is threatening to soon decide on Julian Assange’s refuge after his government falsely accused WikiLeaks of publishing files about a scandal that threatens to bring the president down, as Elizabeth Vos reports.

Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno said Tuesday he would decide “in the short term” the fate of Julian Assange after claiming that WikiLeaks had “repeatedly violated” the terms of Assange’s asylum in Ecuador’s London embassy by commenting on a scandal linking a Panamanian investment company with Moreno and his family.

Those conditions, or protocol, were imposed by Ecuador on Assange in March 2018 and bar him from commenting publicly on political matters in exchange for being allowed to remain a refugee in the embassy. Assange never agreed to the protocol, which contradicts international refugee law guaranteeing freedom of expression.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Moreno is simply setting the stage for remanding Assange into US custody, and is hoping the scandal will blow over, and be forgotten, before Assange arrives in the US, most likely in shackles and leg irons.

And there is a very interesting related article, dated February 2019, which asks the question; Equador; turning right?!?

The next Presidential election happens in Ecuador in 2021, but Moreno is putting his "ducks in a row", so that most Ecuadorian voters will have forgotten about this; there is also a tantalizing bit of business from the Mueller investigations, dated last December, which makes it very clear that Moreno wanted Assange out of the country's embassy, and quickly; Ecuadorian President talked with Manafort about removing Assange from embassy

The article goes on to state:

"The New York Times was first to report that President Lenin Moreno and his aides had expressed their desire to have Assange leave the embassy in at least two meetings with Manafort in exchange for concessions from the US like debt relief, citing three people familiar with the talks. Assange has been holed up at the Ecuadorian embassy, since 2012."

So, I have to wonder; what will President Trump's "quid pro quo" be, as this evolves?!?

SPAIN NOT SATISFIED WITH CIA ANSWERS ON EMBASSY BREAK-IN

The cast of characters will be familiar to observers of secret intelligence operations.

The embassy burglars sought information, a la Watergate. Unlike Watergate, they came by day. They invaded the Embassy in a quiet residential neighborhood, assaulted the staff, tied people up, and demanded computers and files.

A BBC report says they were especially interested in former ambassador to Madrid, Kim Hyok-chol, a confidante of Kim Jong-un.

He was a natural target for those seeking intelligence about North Korea’s nuclear program. In February Thae Yong-ho, a former North Korean diplomat who defected to South Korea in 2016, described him as nuclear expert.

“At a very young age, Kim Hyok Chol was placed on the task force that wrote the drafts for North Korea’s nuclear strategy documents at its foreign ministry,” Thae told reporters at a news conference in Seoul.

El Pais on the possible motive for the brazen attack:

Webmaster's Commentary:

All fingers point to some kind of American intel op, but because everyone got away, the US government is able, of course, to claim "plausible deniability".

FORGET 'CREEPY' - BIDEN HAS A MAJOR UKRAINE PROBLEM

Joe Biden appears to have made a major tactical error last year when he bragged to an audience of foreign policy experts how he threatened to hurl Ukraine into bankruptcy if their top prosecutor, General Viktor Shokin, wasn't immediately fired, according to The Hill's John Solomon.

In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin. -The Hill

"I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’" bragged Biden, recalling the conversation with Poroshenko.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This got reported at WRH yesterday, but certainly bears repeating.

But that Biden would, with his bare face hanging out and cameras rolling, say this, with impunity to a group of foreign policy experts, is one of the most compellingly horrific examples of corruption within the Obama administration.

That he actually had the power to cause a Ukrainian prosecutor to be fired, by threatening Ukraine with bankruptcy, because this prosecutor was leading an investigation into the workings of Burisma's Holdings, which employed Biden's younger son, Hunter, as a board member, should never be allowed to be forgotten by either the Democratic party, or American voters.

FACEBOOK CAUGHT ASKING FOR NEW USERS' EMAIL PASSWORDS

Facebook users are being interrupted by an interstitial demanding they provide the password for the email account they gave to Facebook when signing up. “To continue using Facebook, you’ll need to confirm your email,” the message demands. “Since you signed up with [email address], you can do that automatically …”

A form below the message asked for the users’ “email password.”

“That’s beyond sketchy,” security consultant Jake Williams told the Daily Beast. “They should not be taking your password or handling your password in the background. If that’s what’s required to sign up with Facebook, you’re better off not being on Facebook.”

At this point, the most unsettling thing about Facebook is that it keeps churning out the apologies and promises as it descends to abuses that would have seems impossible to get away with even a few years ago. It's a wolf with a tiny, creepy sheep mask balanced on its snout that far too many journalists feel bound to respect.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have zero respect for what started out as a great platform, but got "absorbed into the borg" of surveillance for the US government.

~censorship of “crazy conspiracy theories” disagreeing with “official and credible sources,”
~US illegal rogue state empire (as usual) including with Trump dictating Venezuela’s democracy overthrown (and likely also “overthrowing” their electrical power), supporting Israel’s illegal War of Aggression on Gaza, war-mongering on Iran since Operation Iraqi Liberation (O.I.L.), etc., etc.,

U.S. Eyes New Front to Combat Iran in Golan Heights

The Trump administration’s recent recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the contested Golan Heights territory is part of a larger effort by the White House to open new fronts in efforts to combat Iranian militants and terror proxies in the region, according to U.S. officials familiar with the decision.

President Donald Trump won plaudits from the pro-Israel community and allies on Capitol Hill when he announced that America would officially recognize the Golan territory on Israel’s northern border as belonging to the Jewish state, which annexed the area following war with Syria several decades ago.

U.S. officials last week faced down critics of this decision at the United Nations, a forum unfriendly to the Jewish state, telling member countries that the Trump administration will take every step necessary to protect Israel’s right to self defense against Iranian militants and Hezbollah fighters who have used the Golan area to launch terrorist attacks on Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Now, it makes sense that President Trump may well think that the Golan Area is the perfect "base" from which he can attack Iranian and Syrian forces, and that was why he tried to lend some "credibility and legitimacy" to Israel's having annexed this area.

Prepare to see major deployments of US military into this area, and most probably, very soon.

Is Washington Preparing The Groundwork For A Maidan Scenario In Venezuela?

Authored by Robert Bridge via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

Venezuela is home to the largest oil deposits in the world, which makes the political stakes involved much higher than they would be otherwise. Enter Juan Guaidó, Washington’s puppet leader in Caracas, who will be attempting to rally the country against legitimate (i.e., democratically elected by the people) President Nicolas Maduro next month.

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó has announced that April 6 will kick off a nationwide "tactical actions" as part of the so-called Operation Freedom protests, which are designed to oust President Nicolas Maduro.

"On April 6 will be the first tactical actions of the # Operation Freedom across the country," Guaidó declared over Twitter this week.

"That day we must be ready, prepared and organized, with the Aid and Freedom Committees already formed. The rescue of Venezuela is in our hands!"

Is this the start of Maidan 2.0?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because something would be the most pig-headedly, ham-fistedly stupid thing for the US government can do, is utterly no guarantee that they will not do it.

Guaido's minions are going to have to do this without a US troop presence, in light of the reality that Russia has already placed troops on the ground, and founded a helicopter flying school.

I would like to hope that President Trump is not contemplating sending in the troops, if Guaido's efforts only create an epic fail; right now, our military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money; or the manufacturing to create a positive outcome in a war with Russia, China, or both.

Whistleblowers Claim FAA Inspectors Not Properly Trained On Boeing 737 Max 8

Multiple whistleblowers have come forward claiming that Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety inspectors were not properly trained and did not hold valid certifications on the Boeing 737 Max aircraft, according to a letter to FAA Acting Administrator Daniel Elwell from Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS).

"Allegations from these whistleblowers include information that numerous FAA employees, including those involved in the Aircraft Evaluation Group (AEG) for the Boeing 737 Max, had not received proper training and valid certifications," the letter reads.

"Some of these FAA employees were possibly involved as participants on the Flight Standardization Board (FSB)," a group formed to evaluate the 737 Max 8 to determine requirements to rate pilots, develop minimum training recommendations, and to ensure "initial flightcrew member competency."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Was the FAA bought off, to ignore these issues?!?

This is a nightmare unfolding for Boeing right now, but they brought in upon themselves.

-The Hill

And why would Biden want the "son of a bitch" fired?

In what must be an amazing coincidence, the prosecutor was leading a wide-ranging corruption investigation into a natural gas firm - which Biden's son, Hunter, sat on the board of directors.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sometimes gobsmacked, by the gross misuse of the power by those in political life in this country.

It appears that the higher one ascends the political ladder into positions of power in this country, the more horrific the criminality gets, and with an incredible degree of hubris and impunity.

Empire of Chaos in Hybrid War Overdrive

Show Me The Big Picture

A hefty case can be made that the Empire of Chaos currently has no allies; it’s essentially surrounded by an assortment of vassals, puppets and comprador 5th columnist elites professing varied degrees of – sometimes reluctant – obedience.

The Trump administration’s foreign policy may be easily deconstructed as a crossover between The Sopranos and late-night comedy – as in the whole episode of designating State Department/CIA regime change, lab experiment Random Dude as President of Venezuela. Legendary cultural critic Walter Benjamin would have called it “the aestheticization of politics,” (turning politics into art), as he did about the Nazis, but this time it’s the Looney Tunes version.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The change in "suspects" does not mask the dark, sinister reality, that the US government's moving forward, both militarily, and by any other means necessary, in order to gain complete control of the Middle Eastern oil, and also to guarantee that it's availability to western-centric countries, and will only be sold in US dollars.

Unfortunately, this realization won't sink in for number of Americans, until the draft is reinstated, and will be coming after both its sons and its daughters.

Several of Khashoggi’s Killers Were Trained in US

n a further blow to US-Saudi ties, reports emerged this weekend on the October murder of Jamal Khashoggi by a Saudi kill team. The kill team’s leader, Maher Mutreb, and other members, had apparently been trained by the US government in the past.

It’s a familiar story, heard often enough when the US aligns itself with a country with a flimsy human rights record. The trainees were part of ongoing routine training operations meant to increase the ties of rank and file Saudi figures with the US security state.

During his training Mutreb, a colonel in the Saudi apy agency, apparently went so far as to try to befriend Khashoggi, likely gathering more intelligence on him, but likely also making his murder all the more uncomfortable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised by this revelation.

Turkey’s Ruling Party Loses Big in Local Votes; Expects to Reverse Results on Appeal

Turkey’s ruling party, the AKP, lost in a big way in the weekend’s local elections, results that had many suggesting that President Erdogan’s attempt to make local voting a referendum on his rule a strategic error.

The AKP, however, is spinning the losses as simple “mistakes,” and with major losses in the big cities of Istanbul and Ankara, the results are being presented as temporary, with AKP fully expecting to appeal enough to get handed those cities in court

Appeals are expected in every distinct of the capital city, as well as in much of Istanbul, where the loss came down to an estimated 0.28 percentage points. Officials see any recounts or appeals as virtually certain to benefit the incumbent party.

With turnouts well above 80%, this was clearly a major election for Turkey, where Erdogan has increased his own powers while severely limiting the parliament, and local officials.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the long run, Erdogan has not been great for the Turkish people, or for its minority Kurdish populations; the Turkish people deserve far better leadership than they have had under Erdogan's watch.

The "Forbidden" Christchurch Video - 22 Discrepancies

"The Christchurch „massacre" is our chance to destroy the power of mainstream media narratives. Although in most cases I usually reject the classification of terror attacks as hoaxes, this one seems to be such a false flag non-incident. And it threatens all of us truthers. The looming threat for us to be muzzled by increasingly rigid internet legislation is now spread by the mainstream media on a daily basis since 15th March.

We have to fight this shutdown. We do that best by eventually (!) once (!) clarifying/solving one - THIS- "terror" case completely."

Yemeni child soldiers recruited by Saudi-UAE coalition

Al Jazeera has obtained exclusive footage that proves the presence of child soldiers in the recruitment camps of the Saudi-UAE-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

The children, desperately poor, are being recruited to fight along the Saudi border to defend it from the Houthis, a rebel group that overran the capital, Sanaa, and large swaths of Yemen's northwest in 2014.

In 2015, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) formed a coalition to overthrow the Houthis - plunging Yemen into a ruinous war - supported by forces loyal to the country's internationally recognised government.

The conflict has created the world's worst humanitarian crisis, pushing Yemen to the brink of famine and leaving about 80 percent of its population - 24 million people - in need of humanitarian assistance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Al Jazeera should be commended on this issue; these kids belong in school, getting the education they need, and not armed with shotguns and bombs.

That the Saudis think of them as "collateral damage", is chilling.

US Conducts a Flurry of Airstrikes Against Southern Yemen

According to US Central Command, at least six airstrikes were carried out by US forces over the past week in Yemen. The strikes were intended to targeted the local al-Qaeda affiliate in al-Bayda Province.

As usual, Centcom offered no casualty data or any details of who was hit, or who was even the intended target. Bayda is known as a major haven for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) but strikes into the province aren’t necessarily productive to that US air war.

The reason Centcom discussed the matter at all seems to have been to clarify that this was part of an anti-al-Qaeda campaign, and not in any way related to the Saudi invasion of Yemen. Despite that, Centcom says that the operation was coordinated with the Saudi-backed government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, I am urging you, please; stop the madness of US militarily-enabled Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

I find it very distressing, sir, that 2 of your BFFs in the Middle East, are the Butcher of Yemen (Prince Mohammed bin Salman) and the Butcher of Gaza (Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu.

This is not something that can EVER be won militarily, but it has to be ended with diplomacy.

And yes, I know that may not be your strong suite; but sir, there have been far too many non-coms, (women, children, infants, and the medically fragile elderly)have been assassinated, or maimed for life.

My ultimate concern here, although the weapons companies have profited immensely from these wars, that history will not remember you as the Merchant of Death in Chief, for your deciding to send more US military assets, and sell more bombs to the Saudis, into Yemen.

Please, think about it, sir.

Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna Calls for Bipartisan Coalition to Work with Trump on Ending Foreign Wars: ‘I Think We’re All on the Same Team’ As Americans

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), a progressive Democrat who is the co-chairman of the 2020 Democrat presidential campaign for Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he hopes a bipartisan coalition comes together to work with President Donald Trump to end a number of wars and U.S. military conflicts worldwide.
Ro Khanna argued that if the United States stops its backing of Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s civil war, finally ends the war in Afghanistan, withdraws troops from Syria once and for all, resists temptations by some to get militarily involved in Venezuela, and completes successful peace negotiations with North Korea, then the United States could better invest resources wasted abroad into rebuilding America’s infrastructure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think this Representative's ideas on this are absolutely terrific; unfortunately, with so many Congressional representatives, from both sides of the aisle, being invested in, or backed by, the military industrial complex, I don't know if he will be able to make this one "fly".

The question is, how many of these manufacturing companies could be re-tooled so quickly to make peace-centric items that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to do?!?

Think: the mythical hero in Iron Man, Tony Stark who, when he understands just what his companies' weapons are doing to real people, wants to shut Stark Industries down, and have the place retooled to make peace-centric products, only to get blind-sided by the business partner, who wants to get him out of the way, permanently?!?

Representative Khanna, this is where you and your team have to be very inventive, transparent, and very positive, to demonstrate how this could be done.

CHINA-STYLE TOTAL SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY COMES TO DETROIT

TN has repeatedly warned that the China model of Technocracy and Scientific Dictatorship was coming to America, and here it is. Detroit, New Orleans and San Diego are all bent on total surveillance of their citizens. ? TN Editor
The push to turn America’s cities into Chinese-style surveillance networks has found a new partner in Detroit, Michigan

The only difference between what is happening in San Diego and what is happening in Detroit is, they are not using the same smart street lights to spy on everyone. Detroit uses Intellistreets a company known to have strong ties to Homeland Security.

What started out as a ‘voluntary’ police-cam share program in Saginaw, Michigan has morphed into a massive 1000 surveillance camera network which includes 500 businesses in Detroit.

Detroit’s Project Green Light, spies on people in real-time at gas stations, retail stores and public housing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is really a reprehensible move by those in government, and almost feels like we have devolved from the attitude and intent of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, into true Code Napoleon law, where one was automatically considered guilty until proven innocent.

GIVING ISRAEL THE GOLAN HEIGHTS IS THE PRICE PAID BY ASSAD TO STAY IN POWER

Trump’s decision not only preserves the status quo and legitimises Israel’s occupation, but is also tantamount to declaring war on international norms, represented by the UN and international law. At a stroke he has imposed the law of the jungle on the Middle East and its people.

Whether the Golan Heights was sold for money or a guarantee of the presidency for Hafez Al-Assad, or both, is not really the issue. Either way, the betrayal is clear. The result was Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights and Hafez Al-Assad becoming president after his military coup against President Nureddin Al-Atassi in 1971.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is an interesting observation; but the real question, and the true "power behind the throne" behind Syria, is Russia.

And I have to ask; will Russia allow this to remain a stable situation?!? My sense is that President Putin is, by both nature and intelligence, a cautious man, and will simply allow this to continue. But if there are any more "nicks and scrapes" against the sovereignty of Syria in other parts of the country, by either Israel and/or the US (which still has troops in Syria, BTW) Putin may "turn loose", militarily, on both entities.

I would like to hope (and pray) that such a scenario will not happen; this country's military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing, to insure a positive outcome to a war against Russia in Syria (or anywhere else).

TAXES OF UKRAINE’S POROSHENKO SHOW HIS INCOME JUMPED 10,000% THANKS TO ROTHSCHILD TRUST

The annual income gains of Petro Poroshenko, who is currently fighting for a second presidential term in Ukraine, saw a nearly hundredfold surge in 2018, the president’s tax documents reveal.
According to the Ukrainian unified register of asset and income declarations, Poroshenko’s fortune totaled 1.56 billion hryvnia (US$57 million) over 12 months through March 31, which is 95 times as much as he reported in the same period a year ago. In 2017, Poroshenko’s gains reportedly reached 16.3 million hryvnia ($600,000).

Most of Poroshenko’s income – around $40.4 million – reportedly comes from return on investment in Zurich-based Rothschild Trust Schweiz, a trust subsidiary of Rothschild Bank AG. The Ukrainian president also earned $14.7 million in profit from the Prime Assets Capital investment fund, while returns on domestic government loan bonds amounted to nearly a million dollars.

Webmaster's Commentary:

On the 21st, watch those ballot boxes get stuffed more intensely than does a roasted goose at Christmas in a desperate, last ditch attempt to keep Poroshenko in power!!!

I have to wonder if all the people conspired to put this knucklehead in power (like President Obama, Washington was behind Ukraine Coup; Obama admits that it was a US -brokered deal in support of regime changeare experiencing "getters remorse" by this point in time.

Because IF Poroshenko does not win the referendum, the next leadership in Kiev may not be quite so warm to the US and its minions, considering the amount of heartburn and graft the nation has had to endure, post-coup.

Ukraine, at that point, may see the logic in repositioning its relationship with Russia, and not view it an adversary, but a very significant friend, "with benefits"; and were I President Trump right now, that could be one of my worst nightmares of the coming runoff.
