He continually petitions other countriesto punish their own citizens for insulting him.

Moqtada al-Sadr's alliance wins Iraq's parliamentary elections

Iraq's electoral commission has announced the Sa'iroun (Marchers) political bloc, cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's alliance with communists, as the winner of the country's parliamentary elections.

Sadr's alliance, which contested in Iraq's elections for the first time, captured 54 parliamentary seats, the commission said on Saturday.

Sadr's movement forms the backbone of the Sa'iroun alliance, but the senior Shia cleric himself, who enjoys a strong support, did not contest the elections.

The Conquest Alliance, led by former transport minister and secretary general of Badr Organisation Hadi al-Ameri, came in second with 47 seats and the Victory Alliance, headed by incumbent Prime Minister Haider al- Abadi, took the third place with 42 seats.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is going to be one of the worst outcomes the US government could have possibly imagined, coming from these elections.

Al Sadr was the guy, if you remember the US's first withdrawal from Iraq, under the SOFA agreement, who threatened that if one American soldier stayed one second past the official time they were supposed to leave, that they were "fair game" for his "Mahdi Army", a Shiite Street militia which was highly effective, particularly in poorer Iraqi neighborhoods.

A pretty corruption-proof,anti-American, no-nonsense guy who wanted to see Iraq rise above the ashes of American war and occupation, Al-Sadr is not going to be very happy about whatever current US troops are in the country, and at first, will politely ask President Trump to remove them (I believe we still have several hundred left here).

If those troops do not get withdrawn quietly (something I am reasonably certain that both Sec Def Mattis nor CIA Director Pompeo do not want to see happen), this could get explosive, and relatively quickly.

Please remember that Al Sadr is still very much in touch with the major commanders of the Mahdi Army, and it wouldn't take much effort to "get the band back together", if you know what I mean.

I Left My Filth In San Francisco

NBC investigators rated the city “one of the filthiest slums on earth.” After surveying 153 blocks in the downtown area, “including some of the city’s top tourist destinations,” they discovered “a dangerous concoction of drug needles, garbage, and feces lining the streets of downtown San Francisco.”

Every single block surveyed by the NBC crew had trash littered about. 41 of those 153 blocks had drug syringes and 96 blocks were contaminated with human excrement.

One has to wonder why a city the size of San Francisco, with such a rich history and vital tourist trade, doesn’t pick up after itself?

The problem, as revealed by the San Francisco Chronicle and many other sources, is homeless people. It seems they just won’t use the public toilets or garbage cans provided by the city.

Yale being probed by DOE, accused of 'toxic environment against men'

The Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) is investigating Yale University after a male student from another school filed a Title IX complaint in February, accusing the Ivy League institution of a “toxic environment against men.”

Kursat Chistoff Pekgoz, an English literature doctoral student at the University of Southern California who has no affiliation to Yale, filed the complaint after he singled out the Ivy League for its overall culture of anti-male discrimination by providing benefits exclusively for women, despite declining male enrollment. This is not the first time Yale has been accused of discriminating against men using Obama-era Title IX policies that have been pulled back under the Trump administration. But this complaint, unlike the others, is unrelated to sexual misconduct on campus.

Europe & Iran now have the perfect excuse to drop the US dollar – Max Keiser

The re-imposition of US sanctions on Iran and Washington’s threat to punish European companies for doing business there provides a good opportunity for ditching the dollar, according to RT’s Keiser Report host, Max Keiser.

“The US uses the dollar as a weapon to promote US dollar hegemony and the US Empire. The world now sees clearly that the US dollar is a Central Bank enabled Ponzi scheme backed by the extraordinarily violent Pentagon whose multi-trillion dollar budget can only be justified via wars of convenience, torture, and election meddling around the world,” Keiser wrote.

US approves $45mn sale of 3,200 bombs & bunker busters to Bahrain

The US has cleared the sale of 3,200 bombs valued at about $45 million, including powerful bunker busters, to Bahrain. The Persian Gulf monarchy is hosting the US 5th Fleet and has been involved in the Saudi-led bombing of Yemen.

The order would consist of 1,500 Mark-82 general purpose bombs; 600 Mark-83 bombs; 600 Mark-84 bombs; and 500 BLU-109 “bunker busters,” bombs armed with special warheads designed to penetrate hardened targets, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on Friday.

The ordnance is intended for Bahrain’s US-made F-16 combat jets, and would come directly from US government stocks. Bahrain “will use these munitions as a deterrent to regional threats, strengthen its homeland defense, and execute counter-terrorism operations,” the agency said, as well as “operate with US-led and US-supported coalition operations.”

Ex-UK spy Christopher Steele ordered to appear for video deposition in London

In a procedural ruling Friday before the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, former British spy Christopher Steele was ordered to appear for a videotaped deposition in London on June 18 for ongoing civil litigation brought against Buzzfeed by a Russian technology executive, Aleksej Gubarev.

A last-ditch effort by Buzzfeed's legal team was denied today in their efforts to expand and question Steele about "the dossier as a whole" instead of a more limited area of questioning in the ongoing civil litigation in the UK.

In the 15-page ruling obtained and reviewed by Fox News, Mr. Justice Jay wrote that the Buzzfeed appeal "should be dismissed on all grounds."

"It's Over" - Biggest 'Russiagate' Cheerleaders Start Covering Their Tracks

As months turn into nearly two years and no solid evidence emerges to nail Russia for nabbing Election 2016, some big Russiagate cheerleaders are starting to cover their tracks.

The best evidence that Russia-gate is sinking beneath the waves is the way those pushing the pseudo-scandal are now busily covering their tracks.

The Guardian complains that “as the inquiry has expanded and dominated the news agenda over the last year, the real issues of people’s lives are in danger of being drowned out by obsessive cable television coverage of the Russia investigation” – as if The Guardian’s own coverage hasn’t been every bit as obsessive as anything CNN has come up with.

IDF Snipers Ordered to Shoot Palestinian Children, Israeli General Confirms

Lets be clear as to implications.

When they ” shoot at children, they are doing so deliberately, under clear and specific orders.”

What this means is that the Netanyahu government ordered the killing of children. The guidelines adopted by the IDF were approved at the highest levels of the Israeli government.

We are dealing with crimes against humanity and the self-proclaimed “international community” applauds. Western leaders, not to mention the media, are complicit: the consensus is that “Israel has the right to defend itself” …. by killing children.

Through omission, the Western media does not mention the words “Gaza Massacre”. You won’t see it. The Palestinians are described as “terrorists”. The lie become the truth!

Webmaster's Commentary:

When you mame and kill children, you mame and kill the future of that society of which those children were a part; this is one of the many-faceted elements of Israel's "Final Solution" to the "Palestinian Problem".

Secret FBI source for Russia investigation met with three Trump advisers during campaign

In mid-July 2016, a retired American professor approached an adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign at a symposium about the White House race held at a British university.

The professor took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with Carter Page, whom Trump had named a few months earlier as a foreign policy adviser.

But the professor was more than an academic interested in American politics — he was a longtime U.S. intelligence source. And, at some point in 2016, he began working as a secret informant for the FBI as it investigated Russia’s interference in the campaign, according to people familiar with his activities.

The new target of Israeli police: Palestinian flags

There have been increasing reports of a police crackdown on flying the Palestinian flag in public even though there is nothing illegal about displaying the flag.

During the dedication ceremony for the new American embassy in Jerusalem on Monday, about 200 left-wing and Israeli Arab demonstrators on a nearby street protested the transfer of the embassy. Other than a neighborhood resident who tried to spray them with water from her balcony, the demonstration, which was led by Arab Knesset members and members of the Higher Arab Monitoring Committee, was proceeding uneventfully. There were no confrontations with nearby right-wing counterdemonstrators or with the police who surrounded them and separated them from their ideological opponents.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In a somewhat ironic twist, with regard to justice for Palestinians, Israel's IDF has become the 21st century's equivalent to German Storm Troopers in World War II.

Putin Vows to Stand Up to US Govt’s Attempts to Block German Pipeline

EU nations, particularly Germany, were already interested in getting closer to Russia in their joint efforts to save the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran. Another issue driving them together is the planned Nord Stream 2 pipeline, connecting Russian natural gas supplies to Germany.

Europe in general, and Germany in particular, need that Russian natural gas. The US opposes the pipeline, however, for deliberately circumventing Ukrainian territory. Russian President Vladimir Putin, visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel, said that Russia will stand up to US attempts to block the project.

He’s not alone. German Economic Minister Peter Altmaier represented US opposition to the pipeline as “America first” policy attempting to secure US exports. He warned Europe would defend its own interests in the matter, even if they conflict with America’s.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What happens when all of Europe is using cryptocurrencies to circumvent US santions, in order to be able to access Russian and Iranian oil?!?

Because, were I a betting person, that is what I would bet this is where Europe will be going, and very, very soon.

US government's "thuggocracy" tactics will not work here, unless President Trump is willing to wage physical war on all countries refusing to honor US sanctions against Russia and Iran.

I would very politely like to suggest to him that perhaps, such a world war is not an answer to his personal frustrations at getting snubbed by Europe over Russian and Iranian sanctions, which have no logical reasons to exist in the first place.

BEX ALERT - Bill Maher and Bari Weiss Cruelly Blame Palestinians for Gaza Massacre

During the embassy opening, a taunting event all but designed to inflame tensions, Israeli forces brutally massacred at least 58 Palestinians protesting along the Gaza border—including women and children. Many were killed by sniper fire hundreds of yards away. Weiss, however, saw no connection between the protests and the embassy launch.

“Bill, I love you, but the riots were not caused by the embassy move,” said Weiss. “They’re not linked. When Hamas attacked Israel in 2008, when Hamas attacked Israel in 2012, when it attacked Israel in 2014, the embassy was in Tel Aviv all of those times… They intentionally moved up the day so that it would coincide with the day of the embassy move so that we would all be disgusted and heartbroken when we saw this horrible split-screen of Ivanka Trump, looking like she was at a country club, next to poor, desperate people dying in Gaza.”

“I agree with you,” Maher replied. “They planned that. Absolutely.”

On Gaza: The end will continue

During the 1st intifada I wrote that the Israeli occupation was over. Some thought this an optimistic assessment, as if life for Palestinians and Israelis would now move beyond occupation. That wasn’t what I was thinking, just the opposite. I thought the Rubicon had been crossed and either Israel would negotiate a two-state solution or place its foot on the accelerator and take as much of Palestine as it could.

Neither happened exactly as I thought. Yet I was hardly wrong either and the question of questions remains thirty years after my initial understanding: When an occupation becomes permanent is it still an occupation?

Hundreds gather in Boston to protest Gaza killings and 70 years of ethnic cleansing in Palestine

More than 300 Palestinians and their allies gathered on Tuesday, May 15 in Boston to mark the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, the catastrophic Israeli ethnic cleansing of Palestine, and to protest Israel’s massacre of Gazans participating in the Great March of Return. A fierce storm did little to dampen the fervor of the crowd, who were forced to move from the streets of downtown Boston to the welcoming sanctuary of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul at the height of the lightning and thunder.

The event, entitled “Remembering and Resisting: 70 Years of Ongoing Ethnic Cleansing in Palestine,” was organized by the Boston Palestinian Community, the Alliance for Water Justice in Palestine, Boston-wide Students for Justice in Palestine, Grassroots International, Jewish Voice for Peace-Boston, Massachusetts Peace Action, Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East, and United for Justice with Peace; more than two dozen other Boston area organizations endorsed the event.

May 19 12:00

Protesting is not enough

The seemingly unending injustice of occupation and a siege that has been described as “incremental genocide,” punctuated by episodes of hypermilitarized violence, is what Palestinians mean by “Al Nakba is ongoing today.” Our catastrophe is not a historical moment that happened in 1948, and can be relegated to the past. Palestinians today are not only commemorating a wrong committed last century, we are protesting the fact that there has been no justice since, only an increase in our dispossession.

And as I sat feverishly consuming reports on my computer, I got a group text from a friend, saying “peel yourselves away from your screens, today we take to the streets.”

Israel Won’t Cooperate With UN Probe on Gaza Killings

Israeli officials announced Friday that they will completely refuse all cooperation with the new UN probe into the Nakba Day killings of 61 Palestinian protesters at the Gaza border. The protesters were killed by Israeli troops.

UN Human Rights Council
A UN Security Council resolution failed to agree on the probe, when it was vetoed by the United States. The UN Human Rights Council, where no veto power exists, held a special session agreeing to send international investigators into the probe.

It was the deadliest single day in the Gaza Strip since the 2014 Israeli invasion. The incident lead to substantial international outcry. Israeli officials argued that the number of deaths were themselves of no consequence, likening it to killing Nazis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Netanyahu now has a full-blown PR crisis of immesurable proportions.

So he is now characterizing reporters covering these protests, and little infants slaughtered in their monthers' arms, "Nazis" ?!?!?

Sorry, Mr. Prime Minister; you jumped the shark with this characterization, and will firmly impress upon the world, that the only way to deal with this genocide, is with a brisk embracing of BDS.

Economics is a language Israelis thoroughly understand, and if this the only peaceful, logical way in which to attempt to prevent further slaughter of the Palestinian people, so be it!!

56 Palestinians reported injured during demonstrations in Gaza on first Friday of Ramadan

Today, as of 20:00, Israeli forces injured 56 Palestinians in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH), during demonstrations near the perimeter fence as part of the “Great March of Return.”

Although 15 May, the 70th anniversary of what Palestinians refer to as the 1948 “Nakba”, was initially intended to be the culmination of the protests, the demonstrations are now expected to continue at least until 5 June, which commemorates the “Naksa”, when Israel captured the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1967.

Some 3,000-5,000 people participated today in protests at the five tent camps located some 600 metres from the perimeter fence, the lowest number since the protests began on 30 March.

French revolt against Macron’s support for Israel

Israel’s massacre of dozens of Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip last Monday is sharpening the divide between the French public and the country’s staunchly pro-Israel leaders.

Even before the latest massacre, one of France’s international giants, film director Jean-Luc Godard, had joined dozens of cultural figures saying they would refuse to take part in French government “cultural” activities designed to promote Israel.

Since Monday, people have demonstrated in solidarity with Palestinians all over the country, including thousands in the streets of Paris.

“50 Hamas members” claim does not justify Gaza massacre

Israel has generated global outrage by picking off demonstrators – holding flags, slingshots, stones and incendiary kites, using burning tires, mounds of sand and improvised gas masks as defenses against heavily fortified soldiers armed with US-made Remington M24 sniper rifles – during weeks of protest in Gaza.

Now Israel is trying to spin away the damage by claiming that many of those killed were members of Hamas, and therefore deserved to die.

But as international law experts and international officials have stressed, the political affiliation of those killed on Monday is irrelevant when it comes to the legality of Israel’s actions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That's like liberals saying it's okay to kill conservatives.

Japan told the World Trade Organization on Friday it was ready to take retaliatory measures against U.S. tariffs on its steel and aluminium, reversing its earlier conciliatory stance toward its close ally.

Japan informed the WTO it had the right to impose tariffs on U.S. goods worth ¥50 billion ($451 million) — equivalent to the impact of the U.S. tariffs newly imposed on Japanese metal products, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

But the ministry stopped short of saying Tokyo might take action, saying: “We plan to decide appropriately, considering the impact on Japanese companies as well as related U.S. measures.”

ICC must investigate Israel’s crimes against journalists

Reporters Without Borders has formally requested that the International Criminal Court prosecutor investigate the targeting of journalists in Gaza as war crimes.

Targeting of journalists was “deliberate” and constitutes “war crimes,” Christophe Deloire of Reporters Without Borders said.

“The Israeli authorities could not have been unaware of the presence of journalists among the civilian demonstration.”

Israel, Egypt ‘Block Turkey from Airlifting Gaza Wounded Protesters for Emergency Treatment’

Egypt and Israel have blocked Turkish aircraft from using their airports to transport thousands of Palestinians wounded by Israeli troops during protests in Gaza, Turkey’s deputy prime minister has said.

Recep Akdag made the announcement on Wednesday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported, amid a growing rift between Ankara and Tel Aviv over Israeli massacres of Palestinian protesters.

Israeli forces killed at least 60 Palestinians and wounded over 3,000 others mostly with live gunfire on Monday during protests against the transfer of the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Israeli forces shot dead two more protesters on Tuesday as Palestinians marked the Nakba, or “catastrophe”, commemorating the more than 700,000 Palestinians who were expelled in the 1948 war.

Since border protests and clashes began on March 30, 116 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire across the Gaza Strip.

Foreign Policy Insiders Try to Scuttle Trump-Kim Nukes Deal

The biggest obstacle Donald Trump is going to face in his upcoming negotiations with Kim Jong-un, is not Kim’s unwillingness to abandon his nuclear weapons program, but resistance from powerful elements in the foreign policy establishment who will do everything they can to scuttle the agreement. We’ve already seen an example of this just this week when US nuclear bombers were included in the US-Korea joint military drills that are currently underway in the south. The B-52?s were clearly added to the massive “Max Thunder” exercises to provoke the DPRK leadership, increase tensions, and convince Kim that it was pointless to trust Washington. The move was bitterly criticized in North Korea’s state media which summed up the situation like this:

Merkel arrived in the Russian Black Sea city of Sochi to meet Putin on Friday, around a year after her previous visit in 2017. Both leaders have had their mandates reconfirmed by their respective electorate since – Putin during the March election, which he won in a landslide, and Merkel after winning the September 2017 general election in Germany and, arguably more impressive, securing a coalition agreement after a daunting six months of negotiations.

FBI Spy-Op Exposed, Trump Campaign Infiltrated By Longtime CIA And MI6 Asset

Following two weeks of mounting speculation over the FBI's so-called "mole" inside the Trump campaign, the New York Times and Washington Post published separate accounts on Friday detailing the infiltration of the Trump campaign - a scheme revealed in a Wednesday report by the New York Times in which "at least one government informant met several times with Mr. Page and Mr. Papadopoulos." The Wednesday report also disclosed the existence of "Operation Crossfire Hurricane" - the FBI's code name for their early Trump-Russia investigation.

Thanks to Friday's carefully crafted deep-state disclosures by WaPo and the Times, along with actual reporting by the Daily Caller's Chuck Ross, we now know it wasn't a mole at all - but 73-year-old University of Cambridge professor Stefan Halper, a US citizen, political veteran and longtime US Intelligence asset enlisted by the FBI to befriend and spy on three members of the Trump campaign during the 2016 US election.

IG Horowitz Finds FBI, DOJ Broke Law In Clinton Probe, Refers To Prosecutor For Criminal Charges

As we reported on Thursday, a long-awaited report by the Department of Justice's internal watchdog into the Hillary Clinton email investigation has moved into its final phase, as the DOJ notified multiple subjects mentioned in the document that they can privately review it by week's end, and will have a "few days" to craft any response to criticism contained within the report, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Those invited to review the report were told they would have to sign nondisclosure agreements in order to read it, people familiar with the matter said. They are expected to have a few days to craft a response to any criticism in the report, which will then be incorporated in the final version to be released in coming weeks. -WSJ

Webmaster's Commentary:

China Resists Trump Deficit Demand, Agrees To Buy More US Goods

Beijing had offered to reduce the US trade deficit by "at least $200 billion" - on Friday the U.S. and China wrapped up the second day of trade talks, and while Beijing made a vague, unenforceable commitment to buy more U.S. goods and services, it resisted Trump's core demand that it cut by more than half the $375BN bilateral trade deficit.

According to the WSJ, while the Chinese were wary of committing to specific purchases - even though Kudlow also said China would buy more farm products, energy and financial services - they continue to look for a way to ease trade tensions between the two nations even if it means with token promises and gestures.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sincerely hoping that both countries can back away from the precipice here, because it is very uncomfortable to understand how quickly trade wars can be preludes to shooting wars.

Iran And Russia Discuss Transacting In Crypto To Avoid International Sanctions

Iran and Russia could start using cryptocurrencies to avoid Western sanctions, Russian news portal RBC reported yesterday, May 17.

Mohammad Reza Pourebrahimi, the head of the Iranian Parliamentary Commission for Economic Affairs, referred to cryptocurrencies as a promising way for both countries to avoid US dollar transactions, as well as a possible replacement of the SWIFT interbank payment system.

At a meeting with Dmitry Mezentsev, the Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, Pourebrahimi said that they have “engaged the Central Bank of Iran to start developing proposals for the use of cryptocurrency.”

Pourebrahimi added that he discussed this topic in the State Duma's Committee on Economic Policy the day before and that Iran had established cooperation with Russia on this issue.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I almost have to laugh at the futility of President Trump's sanctions, now that Russia and Iran have found a way around them, as will other European, and Asian nations, dropping the US dollar and using cryptocurrency.

So how is President Trump going to respond to the world's not paying any attention to his sanctioning of Iran and withdrawing from the P5+1, declare war on the rest of the world?!?
